Brake Lines - LH Sill (Remove and Replace)

Remove
- Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
- Raise and support the vehicle on a 2 post lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
- Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
- Remove all wheels. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Remove the LH front wheel arch liner. See Wheel Arch Liner - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the HV battery. See HV Battery (AWD) (Remove and Install).

Position an oil drain container
underneath the LH rear corner of the vehicle.

Release the retention clips (x2) for
the sill brake line junction blocks.

Release the nut that attaches the side
sill brake pipe assembly to the LH rear brake line.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 12 mm combination wrench

Release the nut that attaches the RH
rear brake line to the side sill brake pipe assembly.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 12 mm combination wrench

Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the
brake junction block to the RH sill.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Torx T30 socket

Release the clips (x6) that attach the
sill brake pipe assembly to the body.
NoteAllow brake fluid to drain as pipes are lowered. Catch brake fluid with shop towels, as needed.

Position the oil drain container
underneath the LH front corner of the vehicle.

Remove the retention clip for the
HCU-to-side sill junction block.
-
Release the nuts (x2) that attach the
side sill-to-HCU brake bundle to the side sill brake bundle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 12 mm combination wrench

Remove the nut that attaches the side
sill brake bundle junction block to the body, and then remove the assembly from the
vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
NoteAllow the brake fluid to drain as pipes are removed. Catch brake fluid with shop towels, as needed.
Install

Clean any debris in the sill
area.
NoteThe clips that attach the brake lines to the body might break on removal. Replace any broken clip(s), as needed.

Remove the oil drain container from
underneath the LH front corner of the vehicle.

Install the nut that attaches the side
sill brake bundle and secure the junction block to the body.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket

Install the nuts (x2) that attach the
side sill-to-HCU brake bundle to the side sill brake bundle.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 12 mm combination wrench

Install the retention clip to
HCU-to-side sill junction block.

Install the sill brake pipe assembly
clips (x6) to the body.

Install the bolts (x2) that attach the
brake junction block to the RH sill.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Torx T30 socket

Install the side sill brake pipe
assembly to the RH rear brake line.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 12 mm combination wrench

Install the side sill brake pipe
assembly to the LH rear brake line.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 12 mm combination wrench

Install the retention clips (x2) for
the sill brake line junction blocks.
- Install the HV battery. See HV Battery (AWD) (Remove and Install).
- Install the LH front wheel arch liner. See Wheel Arch Liner - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Bleed the brakes. See Brake Fluid Bleed/Flush (Remove and Replace).
- Install all wheels. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Install the rear underhood apron. Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).

Perform a road test and ensure proper
brake pedal feel and performance.
