Brake Hose - Flexible - Front - LH (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle on a 2 post lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  3. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the LH front wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  5. Remove the bolt that attaches the brake hose to the LH front knuckle.
    6 Nm (4.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  6. Remove the bolt that attaches the LH front flexible brake hose to the LH front active damper.
    6 Nm (4.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  7. Position a oil drain underneath the LH front corner of the vehicle.
  8. Remove the banjo bolt that attaches the LH front flexible brake hose to the LH front brake caliper.
    42 Nm (31.0 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 11 mm socket

    Note
    Catch any brake fluid lost in the oil drain container.
  9. Disconnect the LH front flexible brake hose nut from the 4 tube bundle.
    16 Nm (11.8 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 12 mm combination wrench

    Note
    Catch any brake fluid lost in the oil drain container.
  10. Remove the clip that attaches the LH front jounce hose to the bracket.
  11. Remove the LH front flexible brake hose from vehicle.

    Discard the brake hose after removal.

Install

  1. Position the LH front flexible brake hose to the vehicle.
  2. Install the clip that attaches the LH front jounce hose to the bracket.

    1x clip
  3. Connect the LH front flexible brake hose nut to the 4 tube bundle.
    16 Nm (11.8 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 12 mm combination wrench

  4. Install the banjo bolt that attaches the LH front flexible brake hose to the LH front brake caliper.
    42 Nm (31.0 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 11 mm socket

    Catch any brake fluid lost in the oil drain container.
  5. Remove the oil drain container from underneath the LH front corner of the vehicle.
  6. Install the bolt that attaches the LH front flexible brake hose to the LH front active damper.
    6 Nm (4.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  7. Install the bolt that attaches the brake hose to the LH front knuckle.
    6 Nm (4.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  8. Bleed the brakes. See Brake Fluid Bleed/Flush (Remove and Replace).
  9. Install the LH front wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  10. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  11. Perform a road test. Ensure proper brake pedal feel and performance.
