Latch - Door - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace)

Remove
- Remove the LH rear door trim lower garnish. See Garnish - Lower - Door Trim - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the LH rear door trim decor. See Decor - Trim - Rear Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the LH rear door trim panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Set the LH rear door to a comfortable working height.

Use masking tape to mark the location
of the LH rear door latch on the LH rear door.
NoteMark where the cover sits on the door jamb.

Remove and discard the screws (x2)
that attach the LH rear door latch cover to the door assembly, and then remove the cover
from the assembly.NoteUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Torx T30 socket
- Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
- Disconnect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).

Release the orange locking tab, and
then disconnect the LH falcon wing door air bag electrical connector.

Remove the screws (x10) that attach
the LH rear door closeout panel to the LH rear door.NoteUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Torx T25 socket

Remove the screws (x3) that attach the
LH rear window motor to the LH rear door closeout panel.NoteUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Torx T30 socket
-
Release the tabs (x2) that attach the
LH rear door closeout panel to the LH rear door, pull the closeout panel away from door,
and then lift the window motor upward to release it.

Release the black locking tab, and
then disconnect the LH falcon wing door protection ECU.

Disconnect the electrical connectors
(x2) from the LH falcon wing door module.
-
Release the clips (x7) that attach the
harnesses and connectors to the LH rear door closeout panel.
-
Release the clip, and then feed the
door release cable through the LH rear door closeout panel.
-
Remove the bolts (x4) that attach the
LH rear door speaker to the door, disconnect the electrical connector, and then remove
the speaker from the door assembly.NoteUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Torx T25 socket

Remove the nuts (x3) that attach the
LH rear door actuator to the door assembly, and then pull the actuator up to gain
access.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket

Release the tabs (x2), and then remove
the LH rear door latch shroud from the door assembly.

Disconnect the connectors (x2), and
then remove the latch and cinching actuator motor assembly from the LH rear door.

Remove the screws (x2) that attach the
cinching actuator shroud to the actuator assembly, and then remove the shroud from the
assembly.NoteUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- T15 socket

Pry up on the black plastic edge to
release, and then slightly unwind and pull up on silver ball to remove the latch from
the cinching actuator.
Install
-
Install the latch to the cinching actuator.
-
Push the actuator back, and then slide
the shroud onto the LH cinching actuator.
-
Position the cinching actuator shroud to the actuator assembly, and then install self
tapping screws (x2) that attach the shroud to the assembly.NoteUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- T15 socket

Position the latch and cinching actuator motor assembly into the LH rear door, and
then connect the connectors (x2).

Position the LH rear door latch shroud into the door assembly, and then secure the
tabs (x2) that attach the shroud to the assembly..
-
Install the nuts (x3) that attach the LH rear door actuator to the door
assembly.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket

Position the LH rear door latch cover to the door assembly, and then install new
screws (x2) that attach the cover to the assembly.NoteMake sure the latch cover lines up with tape marks.NoteUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Torx T30 socket

Remove the masking tape around the
latch cover.

Position the LH rear door speaker to the door, connect the electrical connector, and
then install the bolts (x4) that attach the speaker to the door assembly.NoteUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Torx T25 socket
-
Feed the door release cable through
the LH rear door closeout panel, and then secure the clip.
NoteLubricate the cable grommet to aid in installation.

Position the LH rear door window motor
onto the back of the closeout panel, and then secure the tabs that attach the motor to
the closeout panel.

Install the screws (x3) that attach
the LH rear window motor to the LH rear door closeout panel.NoteUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Torx T30 socket
-
Install the screws (x10) that attach
the LH rear door closeout panel to the LH rear door.NoteUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Torx T25 socket

Connect the LH falcon wing door
protection ECU electrical connector, and then engage the locking tab.
-
Connect the LH falcon wing door air
bag electrical connector, and then engage the orange locking tab.
-
Connect the electrical connectors (x2)
to the LH falcon wing door module.
-
Install the clips (x7) that attach the
harnesses and connectors to the LH rear door closeout panel.
- Install the LH rear door trim panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the LH rear door trim decor. See Decor - Trim - Rear Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the LH rear door trim lower garnish. See Garnish - Lower - Door Trim - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Connect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
- Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).

Calibrate the rear doors.
NoteIf the "Calibration Needed" message appears on the vehicle touchscreen, touch and hold Calibrate to calibrate the rear doors
