Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect)
Note
Vehicles manufactured before mid-February
2022 require an interface box to make the Toolbox 3 connection. Vehicle manufactured after
mid-Febrary 15, 2022 require only an ethernet cable.
Note
Connecting the vehicle to Toolbox 3 will also automatically activate Service Mode
Plus.

Complete Connect

Check the condition of the connectors
of the ethernet interface box, and each of the connecting cables.
NoteThe cables and interface box might be of different lengths and colors than as shown here.
- If powered off, press the brake pedal to power on the vehicle drive rails.
- If powered off, power on the laptop, and then sign in and open a web browser to the Toolbox 3 website.

Release the clips (x4) that attach the
phone dock to the center console, and carefully set the phone dock aside.
NotePull up at the bottom of the phone dock, and then pivot out from under the instrument panel.
- Release the tabs (x4) that attach the IP service panel to the underside of the center display, and allow the panel to rest on the center console.

Connect to the service connector under
the center display.
- If there is a small round Fakra connector:
- If there is a small cube ethernet connector:
NoteIf a software driver wants to download and configure, follow the prompts to make this happen. - Perform a Push-Pull-Push check of the connections.
- In Toolbox 3, click the grey circle in the upper right corner to open the connection window.

From the drop-down, select Connect Locally, and then
click Connect.
NoteWhen the connection is successfully established, the grey circle becomes green.
- Click the green circle to close the connection window.
- Return to the procedure that required a laptop with Toolbox 3 connection to the vehicle.
Quick Disconnect
- Allow any running Toolbox 3 routines to complete.

Disconnect the cable from the
connector under the center display.
- If a Fakra connector, disconnect
the vehicle interface cable from the Fakra connector.NoteIf the laptop is moved, the interface box and cables move with the laptop.
- If an ethernet connector,
disconnect the ethernet cable from the ethernet connector.NoteIf the laptop is moved, the ethernet cable moves with the laptop.
- If a Fakra connector, disconnect
the vehicle interface cable from the Fakra connector.
Quick Connect
Note
A quick connect is only possible after
a successful quick disconnect.
- Bring the laptop, interface box and/or cable(s) to the vehicle.

Connect the cable to the connector
under the center display.
- If a Fakra connector, disconnect the vehicle interface cable to the Fakra connector.
- If an ethernet connector, disconnect the ethernet cable to the ethernet connector.
- Perform a push-pull-push check of the connection.
- If the circle in the upper right corner does not immediately change to green, click the circle, click Connect Locally, and then click Connect.
Complete Disconnect
- In Toolbox 3, click the green circle in the upper right corner to open the connection window.
- Click Disconnect, and then click the grey circle to close the connection window.

Disconnect the cable from the
connector under the center display.
- Fakra connector:
- Ethernet connector:
- Fasten the tabs (x4) that attach the IP service panel to the underside of the center display.

Install the phone dock to the center
console, and then fasten the clips (x4) that attach the phone dock to the center
console.
NotePivot the top of the phone dock in to under the instrument panel, and then push the bottom of the phone dock into the center console.
- Return to the procedure that required the laptop with Toolbox 3 disconnection.
