Vehicle ride quality and handling are maximized when all 4 tires are the same age, model, and tread depth. Rotating tires regularly allows them to wear at the same rate and increases the service life. Refer to SC-19-00-002 for recommended tire rotation intervals.
Procedure
- Remove all 4 wheels. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
-
Check if the tires are
directional.
NoteDirectional tires are identified with an arrow indicating the direction of rotation on the sidewall.
-
Reinstall the wheels according to the
type of tires.
NoteModel X front and rear tires are different in size. Rotation is only possible between the LH and RH sides, as long as the tires are not directional.
- Install all 4 wheels. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
- If the vehicle is in Service Mode, exit Service Mode. See Service Mode (Enable and Disable).
- Reset the learned tire estimates and mileage since the last tire service. On the vehicle touchscreen, touch Controls > Service > Reset.
