Actuator - Recliner - 3rd Row Seat - LH (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the LH falcon wing door.
  2. Open the liftgate.
  3. Fold the 2nd row 60 seat downwards.
  4. Remove the rear trunk load floor. See Trunk Load Floor - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  5. Fold the LH 3rd row seat downwards.
  6. Remove the LH 3rd row seat back carpet. See Seat Back Carpet - 3rd Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
  7. Release the tabs (x4), fir tree clips (x2), and J hook that attach the lower section of the LH 3rd row seat upholstery to the seat.

    Note
    Pull the tabs inward, and then upwards to release.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Clip pry tool
  8. Disconnect the LH 3rd row seat connectors (x2), and then re-route the connectors through the lower section of the upholstery.
  9. Route the LH 3rd row seat connectors (x2) around the lower section of the upholstery, and then connect the connectors.
  10. Unfold the LH 3rd row seat to original position.

    Note
    Leave the headrest in folded position.
  11. Release the J-hook clip that attaches the upper half of the LH 3rd row seat upholstery to the seat.
  12. From the 3rd row, pull the inner portion of the seat cover and foam outward to gain access to the LH 3rd row seat recliner actuator.

    CAUTION
    Use caution to not snag the J-hooks. The actuator is located on the front side of the seat back under the upholstery and cushion assembly.

    Note
    Use the fold function to feed the bottom of the seat upholstery forward.
  13. Disconnect the LH 3rd row seat recliner actuator connector.

    Depress both of the locking tabs on the side of the connector to release.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 6 in 90 degree tip miniature soft grip pick
  14. Cut the zip tie that attaches the LH 3rd row seat recliner actuator cable to the seat bracket, and then remove the cable from the bracket.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Diagonal cutters
  15. Release the LH 3rd row seat recliner actuator cable from the actuator pulley.
  16. Remove the screws (x3) that attach the LH 3rd row seat recliner actuator to the seat frame, and then remove the actuator from the vehicle.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 4 in extension
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
    • Torx T25 socket

Install

  1. Position the LH 3rd row seat recliner actuator on the vehicle, and then install the screws (x3) that attach the actuator to the seat frame.
    2 Nm (1.5 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 4 in extension
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
    • Torx T25 socket
  2. Connect the LH 3rd row seat recliner actuator cable to the actuator pulley.
  3. Position the LH 3rd row seat recliner actuator cable on the seat bracket, and then install the zip tie that attaches the cable to the bracket.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Zip tie
  4. Connect the LH 3rd row seat recliner actuator connector.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 6 in 90 degree tip miniature soft grip pick
  5. Fold the seat upholstery and cushion assembly over the seat frame.

    Note
    Use the folding function to assist with tucking the upholstery.
  6. Engage the J hook clip that attaches the upper half of LH 3rd row seat upholstery to the seat.

    Note
    Fold the seat to a workable position, start at one end of the J hook clip, and then fold the clip inwards until the other end of the upholstery is fully tucked.
  7. Disconnect the LH 3rd row seat connectors (x2), and then route the connectors through the seat upholstery.
  8. Connect the LH 3rd row seat connectors (x2).
  9. Engage the tabs (x4), fir tree clips (x2), and J hook that attach the lower section of the LH 3rd row seat upholstery to the seat.
  10. Install the LH 3rd row seat back carpet. See Seat Back Carpet - 3rd Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
  11. Install the rear trunk load floor. See Trunk Load Floor - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  12. Unfold the LH 3rd row seat into original position.
  13. Close the liftgate.
  14. Unfold the 2nd row 60 seat into original position.
  15. Close the LH falcon door.
