Garnish - Fender - Front - LH (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the front windows.
  2. Press the brake pedal to turn on drive rails.
  3. Use the center display to set the air suspension ride height to “Very High”.
  4. Use the center display to set the air suspension into "Jack Mode".
  5. Turn the steering wheel fully to the right.
  6. Remove the clip that attaches the LH front liner cover to the wheel arch liner, and then remove the cover from the vehicle.

  7. HW3 vehicles only: Remove the clips (x2) that attach the front lower portion of the LH front wheel arch liner to the vehicle, and then move the liner away from LH front fender garnish.

    Note
    This will allow access to remove the lower garnish bolts.
  8. HW4 vehicles only: Remove the clips (x3) and bolt that attach the LH front wheel liner to the valence, and then move the liner away from the LH front fender garnish.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • T30 socket
  9. Remove the bolts (x2) and release the tab that attach the LH front fender garnish to the vehicle.
    1.5 Nm (1.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  10. Starting from the rear, release the clips (x5) and tabs (x9) that attach the LH front fender garnish to the vehicle, disconnect the electrical connector, and then remove the garnish from the vehicle.

    Release the connector lock before disconnecting the electrical connector.

    CAUTION
    HW4 vehicles do not have an ultrasonic sensor on the fender garnish. Be careful not to damage the dummy plug during removal.
  11. Remove the screw that attaches the LH front wheel fairing to the fender garnish, and then remove the fairing from the garnish.
    1.5 Nm (1.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T25 bit
    • Ratchet/torque wrench

Install

  1. Position the LH front wheel fairing on the fender garnish, and then install the screw that attaches the fairing to the garnish.
    1.5 Nm (1.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T25 bit
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
  2. Position the LH front fender garnish onto the vehicle, connect the electrical connector and engage the connector lock, and then secure the clips (x5) and tabs (x9) that attach the garnish to the vehicle.

    Note
    Align the ducting into garnish; the leading clips will not fully engage if the ducting is not correctly aligned.
  3. Install the bolts (x2) and secure the tab that attach the LH front fender garnish to the vehicle.
    1.5 Nm (1.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  4. Position the LH front liner cover on the wheel arch liner, and then install the clip that attaches the liner cover to the wheel arch liner.

  5. HW3 vehicles only: Maneuver the front portion of the LH front wheel arch liner into position, and then install the clips (x2).
  6. HW4 vehicles only: Maneuver the front portion of the LH front wheel arch liner into position, and then install the clips (x3) and bolt.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • T30 socket
  7. Use the center display to remove the air suspension from "Jack Mode".
  8. Use the center display to set the air suspension ride height to "Standard".
  9. Raise the front windows and close the LH front door.
