Insulator - Dash (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Raise and support vehicle.

    Prepare to raise vehicle, Set air suspension to "Jack Mode", Position lift arm pads on vehicle jack pads, DO NOT position the lift arm pads under the battery or side rails, as shown in red.
  2. Open all four doors.
  3. Lower LH and RH front windows.
  4. Turn HVAC on, Turn AC off and set the Blower Speed to 10. Set the Temperature to HI and run for 10 minutes .

    This will clear most of the oil out of the cabin condenser.
  5. Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Install).
  6. Turn off the HVAC and let it sit for 1 minute .

    Make sure both compressor and blower are off, this allows refrigerant inside cabin condenser to return to the accumulator.
  7. Turn the HVAC back on, Turn the AC on, set the Blower Speed to 10 and the Temperature to LO, run the HVAC for 10 minutes .

    This step will clear most of the oil out of the evaporator.
  8. Connect A/C machine to power and switch on.

    Touch time only, Machine will run various background tasks, Wait until Main Menu comes up before continuing.
  9. Skip the following panels when prompted.

  10. Perform hose flush.

    Touch time only, Connect couplers to machine, Open couplers by turning clockwise, Using Main Menu > Next > Menu > Flush hoses > Verify hose connection, Machine will chime once process is complete.
  11. Release RH wiper arm hose nozzle.

  17. Release cowl screen washer supply hose located above LH shock tower cover.

  18. Remove LH outer hood hinge cover.

  20. Remove wiper cowl screen panel.

    4x push clips, Pull cowl up out of lower windshield channel.
  21. Turn off the AC and Blower motor.
  22. Perform the following routine using Service Mode or Toolbox (see 0005 - Service Modes): PROC_VCFRONT_X_START-THERMAL-FILL-DRAIN-REFRIGERANTvia Toolbox: (link)

    Select "x" at the top right of the window to close once complete, Thermal Fill Drain routine has a 5 hour time limit, After 5 hours EXV's will close and routine must be performed again, Verify EXV positions are open via Garage > Vitals > HP > Refrigerant Loop EXV, Verify LCC, CC Left, Evap, CC Right, Chiller are all at ~100%. Recirc is at ~20%, LCC Solenoid is OPENED .
  23. Remove the center console assembly. See Center Console Assembly (Remove and Replace).
  24. Adjust steering column fully rearward and fully down.

  25. Power off vehicle via center display.

  26. Disconnect LV battery connector and First Responder Loop.

  27. Remove wiper module.

  28. Remove caps from low side and high side AC ports.

  29. Connect hoses to vehicle and perform A/C recovery.

    Connect couplers to vehicle, Note the amount of refrigerant and oil recovered, mark oil drain bottle oil level (use a piece of tape marking the fluid level), Open couplers by turning clockwise, Using Main Menu > Recover > Verify hose connection, Machine will chime once process is complete, Vehicle may be left unattended, Note or print the amount of refrigerant and oil recovered, Refrigerant recovered should be ~2.24 lb (1.02 kg), Oil recovered should be ~0.3 oz (8.87 mL), If drained oil level increased more than 1.01 oz (30 mL) refer to drained oil loss chart.
  30. Remove Penta HVAC line from HVAC assembly.

  147. Adjust steering column back to original position.

  150. Remove vehicle from lift.
