Link - Fore - Lower - Front - LH (Remove and Replace)

Reuse

Remove

  1. On the touchscreen, touch Controls > Service > Jack Mode to enable Jack Mode.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  3. Remove the LH front wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  4. Remove the front aero shield. See Panel - Aero Shield - Front (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove and discard the nut that attaches the lower fore link to the knuckle, set aside the Nord-Lock washers, and then remove the fore link from the knuckle.
    180 Nm (132.7 lbs-ft)

    Note
    Note the positioning and orientation of the Nord-Lock washers.
    Tip: Counter hold the stud with a T45 socket and use a breaker bar to loosen the nut.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 22 mm combination wrench
    • Torx T45 socket
  6. Mark the subframe and fore link bolt to aid with installation.
  7. Remove the bolt, nut, and washer that attach the LH front fore link to the subframe, and then remove the fore link from the vehicle.
    127 Nm (93.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 21 mm ratcheting combination wrench
    • 22 mm fixed head wrench

Install

  1. Position the LH front lower fore link on the vehicle, and then hand-tighten the bolt, nut, and washer that attach the link to the subframe.
    127 Nm (93.7 lbs-ft)

    Do not torque this joint at this time. This joint will be torqued during the alignment check.

    Note
    Return the eccentric bolt to the position closest to the mark made previously.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 21 mm ratcheting combination wrench
    • 22 mm fixed head wrench
  2. Position LH front lower fore link on the knuckle, and then install the Nord-Lock washers and new nut that attach the link to the knuckle.
    180 Nm (132.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Counter hold the stud with a T45 socket.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 22 mm combination wrench
    • Torx T45 socket
  3. Install the front aero shield. See Panel - Aero Shield - Front (Remove and Replace).
  4. Install the LH front wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  5. Lower the vehicle until the tires are touching the ground.
  6. Remove the vehicle from the lift.
  7. On the touchscreen, touch Controls > Service > Jack Mode to disable Jack Mode.
  8. Refer to the Alignment Requirement tables to determine whether an EPAS alignment check (EC) or four wheel alignment check (AC) is necessary. If performed, add the alignment check/adjust as a separate activity. See Alignment Requirement - Suspension.
