Insulator - Motor Bay - Rear (5 Seat) (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the LH and RH front doors.
  2. Lower the LH and RH front windows.
  3. Open the LH and RH falcon wing doors.
  4. Move the LH front seat forward.
  5. Fold the 2nd row 60 seat downwards.
  6. Remove the LH rear sill panel trim. See Trim - Sill Panel - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  7. Move the RH front seat forward.
  8. Fold the 2nd row 40 seat downwards.
  9. Release the clips (x8) that attach the RH rear sill panel trim to the body, and then remove the trim from the vehicle.

  10. Open the liftgate.
  11. Remove the rear trunk load floor. See Trunk Load Floor - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  12. Remove the front trunk load floor. See Trunk Load Floor - Front (Remove and Replace).
  13. Remove the trunk gap hider. See Gap Hider - Trunk (5 Seat) (Remove and Replace).
  14. Release the clip and tabs (x3) that attach the RH trunk side mini nub to the RH trunk load floor bracket, and then remove the nub from the vehicle.

  15. Release the clips (x4) that attach the RH trunk sill side trim to the vehicle, and then remove the trim from the vehicle.

  16. Remove the screw that attaches the RH mid C-pillar trim to the RH C-pillar zone bracket.

    • Torx T20 socket
  17. Release the clips (x9) that attach the RH mid C-pillar trim to the RH mid C-pillar zone bracket, and then remove the mid C-pillar trim from the vehicle.

  18. Apply masking tape to the RH racetrack to avoid damage.
  19. Remove and discard the bolt that attaches the RH lower C-pillar trim to the frame rail.

    • Torx T25 socket
  20. Remove the screws (x2) that attach the RH lower C-pillar trim to the RH mid C-pillar zone bracket.

    • 4 in extension
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
    • Torx T20 socket
  21. Release the clips (x12) that attach the RH lower C-pillar trim to the RH mid C-pillar zone bracket, and then remove the trim from the vehicle.

  22. Release the clip and tabs (x3) that attach the LH trunk side mini nub to the LH trunk load floor bracket, and then remove the nub from the vehicle.

  23. Release the clips (x4) that attach the LH trunk sill side trim to the vehicle, and then remove the trim from the vehicle.

  24. Remove the LH mid C-pillar trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Mid - LH (Remove and Replace).
  25. Apply masking tape to the LH racetrack to avoid damage.
  26. Remove the LH lower C-pillar trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  27. Remove the trunk sill trim. See Trim - Sill - Trunk (Remove and Replace).
  28. Release the clips (x2) and push clips (x4) that attach the rear wall load support to the vehicle, and then remove the support from the vehicle.

  29. Remove the trunk tub floor insulator from the vehicle.

    • 6in 90 degree tip soft grip miniature pick
  30. Remove the rear trunk carpet. See .
  31. Pull the rear motor bay insulator upwards, and then remove the insulator from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Install the rear motor bay insulator on the vehicle.
  2. Install the rear trunk carpet. See .
  3. Install the clips (x2) and push clips (x4) that attach the rear wall load support to the vehicle.
  4. Install the trunk sill trim. See Trim - Sill - Trunk (Remove and Replace).
  5. Install the trunk tub floor insulator on the vehicle.
  6. Install the LH lower C-pillar trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  7. Install the LH rear sill panel trim. See Trim - Sill Panel - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  8. Remove the masking tape from the LH racetrack.
  9. Install the LH mid C-pillar trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Mid - LH (Remove and Replace).
  10. Install the clips (x4) that attach the LH trunk sill side trim to the vehicle.
  11. Install the clip and tabs (x3) that attach the LH trunk side mini nub to the vehicle.
  12. Install the clips (x12) that attach the RH lower C-pillar trim to the RH mid C-pillar zone bracket, and then install the screws (x2) that attach the trim to the bracket.
    2 Nm (1.5 lbs-ft)

  13. Install a new bolt to attach the RH lower C-pillar trim to the frame rail.
    2.5 Nm (1.8 lbs-ft)

  14. Install the clips (x8) that attach the RH rear sill panel trim to the body.
  15. Remove the masking tape from the RH racetrack.
  16. Install the clips (x9) that attach the RH mid C-pillar trim to the RH mid C-pillar zone bracket.
  17. Install the screw that attaches the RH mid C-pillar trim to the RH C-pillar zone bracket.
    2 Nm (1.5 lbs-ft)

  18. Install the clips (x4) that attach the RH trunk sill side trim to the body.
  19. Install the trunk gap hider. See Gap Hider - Trunk (5 Seat) (Remove and Replace).
  20. Install the clip and tabs (x3) that attach the RH trunk side mini nub to the vehicle.
  21. Install the front trunk load floor. See Trunk Load Floor - Front (Remove and Replace).
  22. Install the rear trunk load floor. See Trunk Load Floor - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  23. Close the liftgate.
  24. Move the RH front seat to original position.
  25. Unfold the 2nd row 40 seat to original position.
  26. Move the LH front seat to original position.
  27. Unfold the 2nd row 40 seat to original position.
  28. Calibrate the rear doors.

    Note
    If the "Calibration Needed" message appears on the vehicle touchscreen, touch and hold Calibrate to calibrate the rear doors.
  29. Close the LH and RH falcon wing doors.
  30. Raise the LH and RH front windows.
  31. Close the LH and RH front doors.
