Harness - Rear Door - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace)

Remove
- Open all the doors and lower the front windows.
- Lower the LH rear window.
- Remove the LH rear door trim panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the LH upper rear door glass assembly. See Door Glass Assembly - Rear - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the headliner from the vehicle. See Headliner (Remove and Install).

Remove the screw that attaches the LH front racetrack trim to the spine racetrack.
NoteUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
- Torx T20 socket

Starting at the bottom of the LH front racetrack trim and working upwards, release the clips (x22) that attach the racetrack trim to the vehicle, and then remove the trim from the vehicle.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Clip pry tool
- Plastic trim tool

Remove the screw that secures the LH rear racetrack trim to the spine racetrack.
NoteUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
- Torx T20 socket

Release the clips (x21) that attach the LH rear racetrack trim to the vehicle, and then remove the trim from the vehicle.
NoteRelease the clips from the bottom of the trim first, and then work towards the top.NoteUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Clip pry tool

Remove the LH falcon wing door primary strut covers (x2).
-
Release the clips (x8) that attach the LH upper racetrack trim to the vehicle, and then remove the trim from the vehicle.
NoteUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Clip pry tool
- Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
- Disconnect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).

Release the connector locks (x2), and then disconnect the connectors (x3) for the upper harness.

Remove the bolt that attaches the ground to the LH rear door.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket

Release the clips (x5) that attach the door harness to the LH rear door lower assembly.
-
Release the clips (x4) that attach the harness to the LH rear door mid gap hider.
-
Remove the bolt that attaches the LH hinge trim cover to the vehicle, and then remove the cover from the vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 8 mm socket

Release the clips (x2) that attach the junction connectors to the body, and then disconnect the connectors (x2).
-
Release the connector lock, and then disconnect the XM radio antenna electrical connector.
-
Release the clips (x3) that attach the LH upper rear door harness to the body.
-
Disconnect the LH rear door controller electrical connectors (x2).
-
Remove the bolts (x8) that attach the cover plate to the vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
-
Partially release the cover plate.
-
Disconnect the LH upper rear door harness connectors from the LH rear door controller, and then remove the harness from the vehicle.
Install
-
Position the LH upper rear door harness into the vehicle, and then connect the electrical connectors (x2) to the LH rear door controller.
-
Align the cover plate onto the vehicle, and then install the bolts (x8) that attach the cover plate to the vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
-
Connect the LH rear door controller electrical connectors (x2).
-
Connect the XM radio antenna electrical connector, and secure the connector lock.
-
Secure the clips (x3) that attach the LH upper rear door harness to the body.
-
Secure the clips (x2) that attach the junction connectors to the body, and then connect the connectors (x2).
-
Position the LH hinge trim cover onto the vehicle, and then install the bolt that attaches the cover to the vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 8 mm socket

Install the clips (x4) that attach the LH upper rear door harness to the LH rear door mid gap hider.
-
Install the clips (x4) that attach the LH upper rear door harness to the LH rear door.
-
Install the bolt that attaches the ground to the LH rear door.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
-
Connect the LH upper rear door harness electrical connectors (x3), and then secure the connector locks (x2).
- Connect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
- Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).

Position the LH upper racetrack trim on the vehicle, and then install the clips (x8) that attach the trim to the vehicle.

Ensure that the LH falcon wing door seal is seated behind the LH upper racetrack trim.

Install the LH falcon wing door primary strut covers (x2).
-
Position the LH rear racetrack trim on the vehicle, and then install the clips (x21) that attach the trim to the vehicle.
NoteInstall the clips at the top of the trim first, and then work towards the bottom.NoteEnsure that the top of the trim is engaged with the spine racetrack.

Ensure that the falcon wing door seal is seated behind the LH rear racetrack trim.

Install the screw that secures the LH rear racetrack trim to the spine racetrack.NoteUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
- Torx T20 socket

Starting at the top of the LH front racetrack trim and working downwards, position the trim on the vehicle, and then install the clips (x22) that attach the trim to the vehicle.
NoteMake sure the top of the racetrack trim is engaged with the spine racetrack.

Make sure the LH falcon wing door seal is seated behind the LH front racetrack trim.

Install the screw that attaches the LH front racetrack trim to the spine racetrack.NoteUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
- Ratchet/torque wrench
- Torx T20 socket

Install the clips (x25) that attach the rear portion of the headliner to the vehicle.
NoteLeave the front portion of the headliner uninstalled.

Install the clips (x11) that attach the front portion of the headliner to the vehicle.
-
Install the screw that attaches the RH front end of the headliner to the vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 2 in extension
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
- Ratchet/torque wrench
- Torx T20 socket

Connect the RH falcon wing door button electrical connector, and then install the clips (x3) and magnets (x2) that attach the RH upper B-pillar trim to the B-pillar.
NoteReplace the clips if damaged.

Install the clips (x5) that attach the upper portion of the RH lower B-pillar trim to B-pillar.
-
Fully seat the RH front door seal on the B-pillar trim.
- Move the RH front seat rearward.

Position RH upper A-pillar for installation

Position the LH upper A-pillar trim into the vehicle, and then install the fasteners that attach the A-pillar trim to the body.NoteInstall a new nut.NoteThe 10 mm bolt and 13 mm nut is torqued to 5 Nm. The T20 screw is torqued to 2.5 Nm.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
- 13 mm socket
- T20 bit
- Install the RH sun visor bezel A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Sun Visor Bezel - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Move the RH front seat to original position.

Install the screws that attach the LH and RH rear coat hooks to the body, and then close the coat hooks.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- T20 socket
- Install the RH and LH upper C-pillar trims. See Trim - C-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Close the liftgate.

Install the screw that attaches the LH front end of the headliner to the vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 2 in extension
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
- Ratchet/torque wrench
- Torx T20 socket

Connect the LH falcon wing door button electrical connector, and then install the clips (x3) and magnets (x2) that attach the LH upper B-pillar trim to the B-pillar.
NoteReplace the clips if damaged.

Install the clips (x5) that attach the upper portion of the LH lower B-pillar trim to B-pillar.
-
Fully seat the LH front door seal on the B-pillar trim.
- Move the LH front seat rearward.

Position LH upper A-pillar for installation

Position the LH upper A-pillar trim into the vehicle, and then install the fasteners that attach the A-pillar trim to the body.NoteInstall a new nut.NoteThe 10 mm bolt and 13 mm nut is torqued to 5 Nm. The T20 screw is torqued to 2.5 Nm.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
- 13 mm socket
- T20 bit
- Install the LH sun visor bezel A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Sun Visor Bezel - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the LH upper rear door glass assembly. See Door Glass Assembly - Rear - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the LH rear door trim panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).

Calibrate the rear doors.
NoteHold the upper B-pillar button in the down position to manually calibrate.
- Raise the front windows and close the LH front door.
- Close LH front door
