-
Disconnect the A/C compressor logic
electrical connector.
NoteDo not push down on the red tab. Pull to disengage the lock, and then pull again to release the electrical connector.
-
Release the fir tree clip that
attaches the A/C compressor logic harness to the A/C compressor HV harness
bracket.
-
Remove the bolt that attaches the A/C
compressor HV harness bracket to the A/C compressor.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm socket
-
Release the locking electrical
connector, and then disconnect the HV harness electrical connector from the A/C
compressor.
NoteMove the black locking tab away form the A/C compressor, push down on the locking connector to release, and then pull straight out of the socket.
-
Remove the bolt that attaches the A/C
compressor ground strap.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Torx T25 bit
-
Release the fir tree clip that
attaches the coolant hose to the A/C compressor bracket.
-
Remove the powertrain coolant pump
from the A/C compressor bracket.
NoteSlide the powertrain coolant pump assembly away from the A/C compressor off the lower bracket.
-
Release the HV heat pump bracket from
the A/C compressor eyelet.
NoteRelease the bracket tab, and then rotate rearward and up to clear the A/C compressor eyelet.
-
Set the HV heat pump bracket
aside.
NoteNegotiate underneath the high pressure pipe.
-
With an assistant, release the A/C
compressor bracket from the superbeam:
- Remove the bolts (x2) for the A/C
compressor.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 15 mm socket
NoteSupport the A/C compressor while removing the bolts. - Carefully remove the A/C compressor
and A/C compressor bracket towards the front of the vehicle and under the
superbeam.CAUTIONBe cautious around the coolant hose and supermanifold harness.
- Place a fender cover on the fan housing, and then gently place the A/C compressor assembly down.
- Remove the bolts (x2) for the A/C
compressor.
-
Remove the HV battery to A/C
Compressor HV harness:
- Release the clips (x3) that attach the HV harness to the body.
- Hold down the red locking tab, and
then disengage the release lever for the HV harness.CAUTIONDo not force the release lever up.
- Remove the HV harness from the vehicle.
Install
-
Install the A/C compressor HV
harness:
- Route the HV harness underneath the steering column.
- Make sure that the HV harness lever is in the upright and open position.
- Carefully seat the electrical connector and allow the lever to engage.
- Fully secure the lever and verify the red tab is locked.
- Fasten the HV harness clips (x3).
-
With an assistant, position the A/C
compressor bracket assembly into vehicle, and then hand-tighten the bolts (x2) that
attach the A/C compressor to the superbeam:
NoteSupport the A/C compressor while installing the bolts.NoteHand-tighten the bolts first. Tightening to specification in the next step.
- Carefully install the A/C compressor and A/C compressor bracket towards the rear of the vehicle and under the superbeam.
- Negotiate the bracket around the coolant hose and supermanifold harness.
-
Tighten the A/C compressor bracket
bolts (x2) to the superbeam.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 15 mm socket
-
Position the HV heat pump
bracket.
NoteNegotiate underneath the high pressure pipe.
-
Secure the HV heat pump bracket to the
A/C compressor eyelet.
NoteMake sure that the locking tab engages the eyelet.
-
Connect the HV harness connector to
the A/C compressor.
Note3 stage locking connector: After fully seating the connector onto the A/C compressor, engage the black locking tab by pushing toward the A/C compressor.NotePerform a push-pull-push test to ensure proper seating.
-
Install the bolt that attaches the A/C
compressor HV harness bracket to the A/C compressor.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm socket
-
Install the bolt that attaches the A/C
compressor ground strap.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Torx T25 bit
