Trim - Backrest - Seat - 2nd Row - LH (6 Seat) (Remove and Replace)

Remove
- Open all four doors.
- Lower the LH and RH front windows.
- Remove the LH 2nd row seat assembly. See Seat Assembly - 2nd Row - LH (Without 2nd Row Bench Seats) (Remove and Replace).

Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the 2nd row LH monopost under belly trim to the seat.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm deep socket
- Ratchet/torque wrench

Release the clips (x4) that attach the 2nd row LH monopost under belly trim to the seat.
CAUTIONUse caution when releasing the lower trim as the comfort seat switch harness is short in length.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Plastic trim tool

Disconnect the 2nd row LH monopost under belly trim connector, and then remove the trim from the seat.

Remove the bolt, nyloc nut, and seat frame washer that attaches the seatbelt anchor to the seat frame.
NoteDiscard the nyloc nut after removal.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 3 in extension
- 10 mm deep socket
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
- Socket 3/8in Dr. 11/16 - 1761805-00-A
- Torx Plus T45 socket
- Remove the LH 2nd row seatbelt anchor escutcheon. See Escutcheon - Seatbelt Anchor - 2nd Row - LH (6 Seat) (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the LH 2nd row seat seat back cover. See Cover - Seat Back - 2nd Row Seat - LH (6 Seat) (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the LH 2nd row seatbelt escutcheon. See Escutcheon - Seatbelt - 2nd Row - LH (6 Seat) (Remove and Replace).

Route the seatbelt through the lower and upper cushions, and then remove the seat back assembly from the seat.

Place the seat back assembly face down on a workbench.

Slowly release the Velcro straps (x5) that attach the LH 2nd row seat backrest trim to the seat back frame.

Remove the staples (x2) that attach the LH 2nd row seat backrest trim to the seat back assembly.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Pick Miniature Soft Grip, 90 degree tip, 6 in
- Needle nose pliers

Release the tabs (x2) that attach the LH 2nd row seat backrest trim to the seat back assembly.

Release the J-clips (x2) that attach the LH 2nd row seat backrest trim upper seat back upholstery to the seat back assembly.
CAUTIONLimit the use of the 90 pick only to release the J-clips, as the upholstery could be damaged by poking a hole through it.NoteUsing the pick to release the trim from the seat back assembly. Remove the rest by hand.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Pick Miniature Soft Grip, 90 degree tip, 6 in

Rotate the seat back assembly to face upwards.

Release the Velcro that attaches the LH 2nd row seat backrest trim lower seat back upholstery to the seat back assembly.
NoteLift up on the lower portion of the seat back trim and slowly separate Velcro.

Fold the LH 2nd row seat backrest trim upwards.
-
Release the hog rings (x4) that attach the LH 2nd row seat backrest trim to the seat back assembly.
NoteCut the hog rings out with diagonal cutters.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Diagonal cutters

Fold the LH 2nd row seat backrest trim back to reveal the upper seat back hog rings.

Release the hog rings (x7) that attach the LH 2nd row seat backrest trim to the seat back assembly.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Diagonal cutters

Release the Velcro that attaches the LH 2nd row seat backrest trim upper seat back upholstery to the seat back assembly.
NoteSlowly release the Velcro from the seat back foam.

Remove the LH 2nd row seat backrest trim from the seat back foam.
Install

Position the LH 2nd row seat backrest trim upper seat back upholstery on the seat back assembly.
NoteEnsure that the seat back headrest upholstery seam aligns with the center groove on the seat back head rest foam. Firmly press upholstery headrest Velcro to seat back foam to secure.

Install the hog rings (x7) that attach the LH 2nd row seat backrest trim to the seat back assembly.
NoteStarting on the LH side of the foam, install the hog rings working downwards and then upwards to the RH side.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Hog ring pliers - 1501599-00-A

Pull the LH 2nd row seat backrest trim upholstery downwards, and then install the hog rings (x4) that attach the trim to the seat back assembly.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Hog ring pliers - 1501599-00-A

Pull the remaining LH 2nd row seat backrest trim upholstery downwards, and then firmly press the Velcro into the seat back foam.
NoteThoroughly press the lower seat back Velcro into place until fully secure.

Rotate the seat back assembly to face downwards.

Install the J-clips (x2) that attach the LH 2nd row seat backrest trim upper seat back upholstery to the seat back assembly.
NoteStarting on LH side of upper upholstery, firmly press the J-clips into the seat back assembly to secure. Use a plastic trim tool to ensure J-clips are fully seated.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Plastic trim tool

Install the tabs (x2) that attach the LH 2nd row seat backrest trim to the seat back assembly.

Install the Velcro straps (x5) that attach the LH 2nd row seat backrest trim to the seat back frame.
NoteFirmly pull the Velcro straps to seat back assembly, and then press into place to secure.

Install the staples (x2) that attach the LH 2nd row seat backrest trim to the seat back assembly.
NoteSecure the Velcro strap to the seat back assembly with the staples.

Route the seatbelt through the seat back assembly.
NoteEnsure that the seatbelt anchor escutcheon is routed onto the seatbelt prior to the seatbelt anchor being routed through seat cushion. Do not install seatbelt the anchor escutcheon at this time.
- Install the LH 2nd row seatbelt escutcheon. See Escutcheon - Seatbelt - 2nd Row - LH (6 Seat) (Remove and Replace).
- Install the LH 2nd row seat seat back cover. See Cover - Seat Back - 2nd Row Seat - LH (6 Seat) (Remove and Replace).
- Install the LH 2nd row seatbelt anchor escutcheon. See Escutcheon - Seatbelt Anchor - 2nd Row - LH (6 Seat) (Remove and Replace).

Install the bolt, nyloc nut, and seat frame washer that attaches the seatbelt anchor to the seat frame.NoteInstall a new nyloc nut.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 3 in extension
- 10 mm deep socket
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
- Socket 3/8in Dr. 11/16 - 1761805-00-A
- Torx Plus T45 socket

Position the LH monopost under belly trim on the seat assembly, and then connect the trim connector.

Install the clips (x4) that attach the 2nd row LH monopost under belly trim to the seat.
NoteAlign the datums first, and then secure the trim.

Install the bolts (x2) that attach the 2nd row LH monopost under belly trim to the seat.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm deep socket
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
- Ratchet/torque wrench
- Install the LH 2nd row seat assembly. See Seat Assembly - 2nd Row - LH (Without 2nd Row Bench Seats) (Remove and Replace).
- Raise the LH and RH front windows.
- Close the LH front door.
