Fan - Camera - Forward Facing (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Remove the lower camera cover. See Camera Cover - Lower (Remove and Replace).
  2. Remove the rear view mirror. See Mirror - Rear View (Remove and Replace).
  3. Carefully pull down on the upper camera cover to release it from the clips (x4), and then lower the rear view mirror harness cover.
  4. Disconnect the forward facing camera fan electrical connector.
  5. Remove the upper camera cover. See Upper Cover - Rear View Mirror (Remove and Replace).
  6. Remove the screws (x3) that attach the forward facing camera fan to the vehicle.
    0.12 Nm (1 lbs-in)

    TIp
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • T6 socket
  7. Gently pry along the left side edges of the forward facing camera fan to release the adhesive backing from the carrier.
  8. Use IPA wipes to clean the remaining adhesive from the mounting point.

    Note
    Allow 1 minute of dry time.

Install

  1. Remove the adhesive backing from the forward facing camera fan, position the fan into the vehicle, and then install the screws (x3) that attach the fan to the vehicle.
    0.12 Nm (1 lbs-in)

    TIp
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • T6 socket
  2. Connect the forward facing camera fan electrical connector.
  3. Install the upper camera cover. See Upper Cover - Rear View Mirror (Remove and Replace)
  4. Secure the clips (x4) that attach the rear view mirror harness cover assembly to the windshield.

    Note
    Ensure the rear view mirror harness is routed so that it hangs freely on the outside and is not pinched between the cover and glare shield assembly. Fully secure the assembly as a whole.
  5. Install the rear view mirror. See Mirror - Rear View (Remove and Replace).
  6. Install the lower camera cover. See Camera Cover - Lower (Remove and Replace).
  7. Reinstall vehicle software. See Firmware Reinstall - Touchscreen.
