Sensor - Impact - B-Pillar - LH (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the LH doors and lower the front windows.
  2. Move the driver seat rearward.
  3. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  4. Disconnect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  5. Remove the LH lower B-pillar trim. See Trim - B-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  6. Release the connector lock, and then disconnect the LH B-pillar impact sensor electrical connector.

    CAUTION
    Do not push down on the red tab. Pull the red tab to disengage the lock and then pull again to release the connector.
  7. Remove and discard the bolt that attaches the LH B-pillar impact sensor to the vehicle, and then remove the sensor from the vehicle.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • T30 socket

Install

  1. Position the LH B-pillar impact sensor into the vehicle, and then install a new bolt that attaches the sensor to the vehicle.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • T30 socket
  2. Connect the LH B-pillar impact sensor electrical connector, and then secure the locking tab.
  3. Install the LH lower B-pillar trim. See Trim - B-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  4. Connect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  5. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  6. Move the driver seat to the original position.
  7. Calibrate the rear doors.

    Note
    If the "Calibration Needed" message appears on the vehicle touchscreen, touch and hold Calibrate to calibrate the rear doors.
  8. Raise the front windows and close the LH front door.
