Amplifier - Audio - External (Remove and Replace)

Correction code 21213502 0.66 NOTE: Unless otherwise explicitly stated in the procedure, the above correction code and FRT reflect all of the work required to perform this procedure, including the linked procedures. Remove

  1. Open the LH and RH front doors.
  2. Lower the LH and RH front windows.
  3. Open the LH and RH falcon wing doors.
  4. Move the LH and RH front seats forward.
  5. Fold the 2nd row 40 and 60 seats downward.
  6. Open the liftgate.
  7. On the touchscreen, touch Controls > Safety & Security > Power Off.
  8. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  9. Disconnect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  10. Remove the rear trunk load floor. See Trunk Load Floor - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  11. Remove the front trunk load floor. See Trunk Load Floor - Front (Remove and Replace).
  12. Release the clip and tabs (x3) that attach the RH trunk side mini nub to the RH trunk load floor bracket, and then remove the mini nub from the vehicle.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Plastic trim tool
  13. Remove the trunk gap hider. See Gap Hider - Trunk (5 Seat) (Remove and Replace).
  14. Remove the LH and RH side rear trunk garnish. See Garnish - Rear Trunk - Side - LH (Remove and Replace).
  15. Remove the trunk sill trim. See Trim - Sill - Trunk (Remove and Replace).
  16. Release the clips (x2) and push clips (x4) that attach the rear wall load support to the vehicle, and then remove the support from the vehicle.
  17. Remove the RH mid C-pillar trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Mid - LH (Remove and Replace).
  18. Remove the RH lower C-pillar trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  19. Remove the RH upper C-pillar trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
  20. Release the RH trunk tie down from the RH side trim carpet.
  21. Remove the RH trunk side trim. See Trim - Side - Trunk - RH (Remove and Replace).
  22. Release the clips (x2) that attach the RH body harness to the external audio amplifier.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Clip pry tool
  23. Disconnect the external audio amplifier connectors (x3).
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Pocket screwdriver
  24. Remove the bolt that attaches the external audio amplifier to the vehicle.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
  25. Remove the nuts (x2) that attach the external audio amplifier to the vehicle, and then remove the amplifier from the vehicle.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench

Install

  1. Position the external audio amplifier on the vehicle, and then install the nuts (x2) that attach the amplifier to the vehicle.
    9 Nm (6.6 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
  2. Install the bolt that attaches the amplifier to the vehicle.
    9 Nm (6.6 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
  3. Connect the external audio amplifier connectors (x3).
  4. Install the clips (x2) that attach the RH body harness to the external audio amplifier.
  5. Install the RH trunk side trim. See Trim - Side - Trunk - RH (Remove and Replace).
  6. Install the RH trunk tie down on the RH side trim carpet.
  7. Install the RH upper C-pillar trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
  8. Install the RH lower C-pillar trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  9. Install the RH mid C-pillar trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Mid - LH (Remove and Replace).
  10. Install the clips (x2) and push clips (x4) that attach the rear wall load support to the vehicle.
  11. Install the trunk sill trim. See Trim - Sill - Trunk (Remove and Replace).
  12. Install the LH and RH side rear trunk garnish. See Garnish - Rear Trunk - Side - LH (Remove and Replace).
  13. Install the trunk gap hider. See Gap Hider - Trunk (5 Seat) (Remove and Replace).
  14. Install the clip and tabs (x3) that attach the RH trunk side mini nub to the vehicle.
  15. Install the front trunk load floor. See Trunk Load Floor - Front (Remove and Replace).
  16. Install the rear trunk load floor. See Trunk Load Floor - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  17. Connect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  18. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  19. Close the liftgate.
  20. Unfold the 2nd row 40 and 60 seats to original position.
  21. Move the LH and RH front seats forward.
  22. Calibrate the rear doors.

    Note
    If the "Calibration Needed" message appears on the vehicle touchscreen, touch and hold Calibrate to calibrate the rear doors.
  23. Close the LH and RH falcon wing doors.
  24. Raise the LH and RH front windows.
  25. Close the LH and RH front doors.
