Handle - Exterior Release - Door - Front - LH (Remove & Replace)

Remove

  1. Remove the LH front door trim decor. See .
  2. Remove the LH front door trim panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the LH front door closeout panel. See .
  4. Release but do not remove the bolts (x4) that attach the LH door module to the door.
    6 Nm (4.4 lbs-ft)

    Note
    Remove the bolts enough to lower the LH door module to gain access to the door mirror harness.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 8 mm socket
  5. Connect a window switch tool to the LH front door harness, and then raise the LH front window fully.

    Note
    Connect door panel x927 if switch kit is not available.
  6. Apply masking tape to the LH front door glass and outer belt molding to mark the glass position, and then break the tape between the molding and glass.
  7. Remove the rearmost bolt that attaches the LH front door glass to the regulator.
    6 Nm (4.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10mm socket
  8. Lower the LH front window to access the front bolt, and then disconnect the window switch.
  9. Remove the foremost bolt that attaches the LH front door glass to the regulator, and then remove the glass from the door assembly.
    6 Nm (4.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10mm socket
  10. Remove the nuts (x2) that attach the rear section of the LH front door window regulator to the door assembly.
    10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10mm socket
  11. Remove the LH front outer belt molding.
  12. Partially release the LH front door inner belt seal to gain access to the door mirror bolts.
    1. Pull the seal upwards to release the tab.
    2. Use a clip prytool to remove the push clips (x8).
    3. Pull the RH side of the seal away from the door panel.
    4. Keep the front side of the seal connected.
    5. Move the seal away from the door assembly.
  13. Disconnect the LH front door exterior release handle connector.
  14. Remove the butyl patches (x2) that cover the access holes in the door, remove the nuts (x3) that attach the LH front door exterior release handle to the door, and then remove the door handle from the door assembly.
    10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10mm socket

Install

  1. Position the LH front door exterior release handle into the LH front door, install the nuts (x3) that attach the door handle to the door assembly, and then install new butyl patches (x2) that cover the fastener access holes.
    10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10mm socket
  2. Connect the LH front door exterior release handle connector.
  3. Install the nuts (x2) that attach the rear section of the window regulator to the door assembly.
    10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10mm socket
  4. Secure the clips (x8) and tab that attach the LH front door inner belt seal to the door assembly.
  5. Position the LH front door outer belt molding onto the door assembly, and then press the molding downward to secure it to the door.
    Tip: Apply P-80 to the channel to ease installation.
  6. Position the LH front door glass into the LH front door, and then install the bolt that attaches glass to the front regulator.
    6 Nm (4.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10mm socket
  7. Raise the LH front window fully, and then install the bolt that attaches the LH front door glass to the front regulator.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10mm socket
  8. Check the gap between the LH front window and the B-pillar applique, and adjust the glass as needed.

  9. Install the bolts (x4) that attach the LH door module to the door.
    6 Nm (4.4 lbs-ft)

    Make sure to properly route the wiring for the LH door mirror.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 8 mm socket
  10. Fully lower the LH front window, and then disconnect the window switch special tool.
  11. Install the LH front door closeout panel. See .
  12. Install the LH front door trim panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  13. Install the LH front door trim decor. See .
