Door Assembly - Charge Port (NA) (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Remove the charge port assembly. See Charge Port (NACS) (Remove and Replace).
  2. Release the locking tab, and then disconnect the LH taillight electrical connector.
  3. Remove the fasteners (x3) that attach the LH taillight assembly to the vehicle, and then remove the assembly from the vehicle.
    2.5 Nm (1.8 lbs-ft)
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 8 mm socket
  4. Remove the bolts (x3) that attach the charge port door assembly to the LH taillight assembly, and then remove the charge port door from the taillight assembly.
    1.3 Nm (1.0 lbs-ft)
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 socket

Install

  1. Position the charge port door assembly to the LH taillight assembly, and then install the bolts (x3) that attach the charge port door to the taillight assembly.
    1.3 Nm (1.0 lbs-ft)
    Note
    Verify the locating studs are correctly aligned.
    Note
    Ensure the charge port door cycles without contacting the taillight.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 socket
  2. Position the LH taillight assembly into the vehicle, and then install the fasteners (x3) that attach the assembly to the vehicle.
    2.5 Nm (1.8 lbs-ft)
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 8 mm socket
  3. Connect the LH taillight electrical connector, and then secure the connector lock.
  4. Install the charge port assembly. See Charge Port (NACS) (Remove and Replace).
  5. Check the charge port door for correct operation and alignment.
    • Open and close the charge port door from the touchscreeen
    • Confirm that the charge port door opens fully, closes fully, and does not bind or contact the body or tail light
    • With the door closed, check gap and flush to the body and taillight. If gap or flush is out of specification, adjust the charge port door. See Door - Charge Port (Global) (Adjust)
