Reservoir - Windshield Washer (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  3. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the LH and RH underhood aprons. See Underhood Apron - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the front underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Front (Remove and Replace).
  6. Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Install).
  7. Disconnect the reservoir washer hose from the straight hose coupling at the cowl screen.
  8. Remove the clip that attaches the windshield washer reservoir neck to the body, and then release the neck from the body.
  9. Remove the LH front wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  10. Remove the LH front wheel arch liner. See Wheel Arch Liner - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  11. Disconnect the windshield washer reservoir level sensor electrical connector.
  12. Disconnect the windshield washer reservoir pump electrical connector.
  13. Release the clips (x3) that attach the frunk harness to the windshield washer reservoir.
  14. Release the reservoir washer hose from the hooks (x6) and tabs (x2) on the windshield washer reservoir, and then remove the hose from the vehicle.
  15. Separate the windshield washer reservoir neck from the windshield washer reservoir.

    Note
    Inspect the O-ring and replace if damaged.
  16. Remove the windshield washer reservoir level sensor from the windshield washer reservoir, and then allow the washer fluid to drain.
  17. Inspect the windshield washer reservoir level sensor seal for damage. Replace the seal if damaged.
  18. Disconnect the reservoir washer hose from the windshield washer reservoir pump.
  19. Pull the windshield washer reservoir pump upward to release it from the windshield washer reservoir, and then remove the pump from the vehicle.
  20. Remove the nuts (x3) that attach the windshield washer reservoir to the vehicle, and then remove the reservoir from the vehicle.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket

Install

  1. Position the windshield washer reservoir into the vehicle, and then install the nuts (x3) that attach the reservoir to the vehicle.
    5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  2. Position the windshield washer reservoir pump into the vehicle, and then install the pump into the windshield washer reservoir.

    Note
    Fully seat the pump into the grommet and face the hose coupling forward.
  3. Connect the reservoir washer hose from windshield washer reservoir pump.
  4. Position the windshield washer reservoir level sensor into the vehicle, and then install the sensor into the windshield washer reservoir.

    Note
    Align the square edge with the mark on the reservoir housing.
  5. Connect the windshield washer reservoir neck to the windshield washer reservoir.

    Inspect the O-ring and replace if damaged.

    Lubricate the O-ring with washer fluid to prevent damage.
  6. Position the reservoir washer hose onto windshield washer reservoir, and then secure the hose into the hooks (x6) and tabs (x2) that attach the hose to the reservoir.
  7. Secure the clips (x3) that attach the frunk harness to the windshield washer reservoir.
  8. Connect the windshield washer reservoir pump electrical connector.
  9. Connect the windshield washer reservoir level sensor electrical connector.
  10. Install the LH front wheel arch liner. See Wheel Arch Liner - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  11. Install the LH front wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  12. Install the clip that attaches the windshield washer reservoir neck to the body.
  13. Connect the reservoir washer hose to the straight hose coupling at the cowl screen.
  14. Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Install).
  15. Install the front underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Front (Remove and Replace).
  16. Install the LH and RH underhood aprons. See Underhood Apron - LH (Remove and Replace).
  17. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  18. Fill the windshield washer reservoir until the fluid level is visible just below the filler neck.
  19. Close the hood.
  20. Remove the vehicle from the lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  21. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
