Module - Body Controller - RH (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Remove the RH front sill panel trim. See Trim - Sill Panel - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  2. Remove the RH IP end cap. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the RH middle A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the RH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  6. Disconnect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  7. Remove the front passenger footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell - Passenger (Remove and Replace).
  8. Remove the front passenger knee airbag. See Knee Airbag - Front Passenger (Remove and Replace).
  9. Move the RH front cabin carpet aside for access.
  10. Disconnect the body 4 electrical connector (X054) from the RH body controller module.
  11. Release the connector lock, disconnect the body 5 electrical connector (J6/J7 X060A/B) from the RH body controller module.
  12. Disconnect the body electrical connector ( (J4) ) from the RH body controller module.
  13. Release the connector lock, disconnect the body connector (J2 X050) from the RH body controller module.
  14. Disconnect the understood storage unit electrical connector (J9 X050) from the RH body controller module.
  15. Release the connector lock, disconnect the body 2 electrical connector (J3 X051) from the RH body controller module.
  16. Release the connector lock, disconnect the body 6 electrical connector (J8 X062) from the RH body controller module.
  17. Release the connector lock, disconnect the power electrical connector (J14 X056) from the RH body controller module.
  18. Release the connector locks, disconnect the harness electrical connectors (x2) from the RH body controller module.
  19. Use a clip prytool to release the clips (x2) that attach the harness electrical connector to the RH body controller module.
  20. Release the connector lock, disconnect the dash electrical connector (J12) from the RH body controller module.
  21. Disconnect the door electrical connectors ( J10 and J11) from the RH body controller module.
  22. Use a clip prytool to release the clips (x2) that attach the RH harness bracket to the body.
  23. Move the harness bundle aside for access to the RH body controller module.
  24. Remove and discard the nut that attaches the RH body controller module to the body.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
  25. Lift the RH body controller module upwards carefully to release the tab, and then remove the RH body controller module from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Position the RH body controller module into the vehicle, install the tab to the body and align into the body stud.
  2. Install a new nut that attaches the RH body controller to the body.
    6 Nm (4.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
  3. Position the harness bundle to the RH body controller module.
  4. Install the clips (x2) that attach the RH harness bracket to the body.
  5. Connect the door electrical connectors ( J10 and J11) to the RH body controller module.
  6. Connect the dash electrical connector (J12) to the RH body controller module.
  7. Fasten the clips (x2) that attach the RH harness bracket to the body.
  8. Connect the harness electrical connectors (x2) to the RH body controller module.
  9. Connect the power electrical connector (J14 X056) to the RH body controller module.
  10. Connect the body 6 electrical connector (J8 X062) to the RH body controller module.
  11. Connect the body 2 electrical connector (J3 X051) to the RH body controller module.
  12. Connect the understood storage unit electrical connector (J9 X050) to the RH body controller module.
  13. Connect the body electrical connector (J2 X050) to the RH body controller module.
  14. Connect the body electrical connector (J4) to the RH body controller module.
  15. Connect the body 5 electrical connector (J6/J7 X060A/B) to the RH body controller module.
  16. Connect the body 4 electrical connector (X054) to the RH body controller module.
  17. Return the RH main carpet back in place.
  18. Install the front passenger knee airbag. See Knee Airbag - Front Passenger (Remove and Replace).
  19. Install the front passenger footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell - Passenger (Remove and Replace).
  20. Install the RH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace)
  21. Install the RH middle A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace)
  22. Install the RH IP end cap. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
  23. Install the RH front sill panel trim. See Trim - Sill Panel - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  24. Secure the bottom and lower front of the RH front primary seal to the body.
  25. Connect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  26. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  27. Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  28. Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway (Unlock).
  29. In Toolbox 3, click the Actions tab, type "CAN Redeploy" into the search field, click SERVICE CAN REDEPLOY, click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
  30. In Toolbox 3, click the Actions tab, type "VCRIGHT replacement" into the search field, click PROC_VCRIGHT_X_POST-REPLACEMENT-PROCEDURE, click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
  31. Disconnect Toolbox and remove the laptop from the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
