Procedure

  1. Remove the plug from the HV battery coolant supply fitting (left), immediately connect the battery flush adapter to the fitting, and then perform a Push-Pull-Push test of the fittings.
  2. Connect the coolant cart flush hose to the coolant cart regulator.
  3. Make sure that the coolant cart regulator valve is in the closed (vertical) position.
  4. Connect the coolant cart flush hose to the battery flush adapter.
  5. Make sure that the P2 battery drain adapter valve is in the closed (perpendicular to adapter) position.
  6. Remove the plug from the HV battery coolant return fitting (right), immediately connect the P2 battery drain adapter to the fitting, and then perform a Push-Pull_Push test of the fittings.
  7. Connect the coolant cart drain hose to the coolant drain container.
  8. Connect the coolant cart drain hose to the P2 battery drain adapter.
  9. Turn the valve on the P2 battery drain adapter to the open (parallel to adapter) position.
  10. Connect the supply air hose to the coolant cart supply air connector.
  11. Slowly turn the pressure regulator valve to the open (horziontal) position, and allow coolant to drain out of the HV battery enclosure.
  12. After the coolant has drained, turn the pressure regulator valve to the closed (vertical) position.
  13. Disconnect the supply air hose from the coolant cart supply air connector.
  14. Turn the valve on the P2 battery drain adapter to the closed (perpendicular to adapter) position.
  15. Remove the coolant cart drain hose from the P2 battery drain adapter.
  16. Remove the coolant cart drain hose from the coolant drain container.
  17. Release the clip, and then disconnect the P2 battery drain adapter from the HV battery coolant return fitting (right).
  18. Disconnect the coolant cart flush hose from the battery flush adapter.
  19. Disconnect the coolant cart flush hose from the coolant cart regulator.
  20. Release the clip, and then disconnect the battery flush adapter from the HV battery coolant supply fitting (left).
