Knee Airbag - Front Passenger (Remove and Replace)

Remove
- Remove the passenger footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell - Passenger (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the RH center console side panel. See Side Panel - Center Console - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the RH front sill panel trim. See Trim - Sill Panel - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the RH instrument panel end cap. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the RH middle A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the RH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Disconnect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).

Remove the bolts (x2) and clip that
attach the front passenger knee airbag assembly to the vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10mm socket

Release the tabs (x6) and clip that
attach the front passenger knee airbag assembly to the vehicle, disconnect the
electrical connectors (x2), and then remove the assembly from the vehicle.

Remove and discard the bolts (x2) that
attach the front passenger knee airbag cover brace to the airbag assembly, and then
remove the brace from the assembly.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- E10 socket

Remove and discard the bolts (x4) that
attach the front passenger knee airbag cover to the front passenger knee airbag, release
the tabs (x5), and then rotate the airbag out of the cover to remove it.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- E10 socket
Install

Position the front passenger knee airbag into the front passenger knee airbag cover,
secure the tabs (x5), and then install new bolts (x4) that attach the cover to the
airbag.NoteRotate the airbag into the cover.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- E10 socket

Position the front passenger knee airbag cover brace into the airbag assembly, and
then install new bolts (x2) that attach the brace to the assembly.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- E10 socket

Position the front passenger knee
airbag assembly into the vehicle, connect the electrical connectors (x2), and then
secure the tabs (x6) and clip that attach the assembly to the vehicle.
NoteSupport the assembly while connecting the connectors.NoteHook tabs before fully seating the assembly,CAUTIONBe careful not to damage the connectors and harness.

Install the bolts (x2) and clip that attach the front passenger knee airbag assembly
to the vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10mm socket
- Install the RH center console side panel. See Side Panel - Center Console - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the passenger footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell - Passenger (Remove and Replace).
- Install the RH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the RH middle A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the RH instrument panel end cap. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the RH front sill panel trim. See Trim - Sill Panel - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the RH front floor mat.
- Connect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
- Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).

Calibrate the rear doors.
NoteIf the "Calibration Needed" message appears on the vehicle touchscreen, touch and hold Calibrate to calibrate the rear doors
