Module - Body Controller - LH (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Remove the LH front sill panel trim. See Trim - Sill Panel - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  2. Remove the LH IP end cap. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the LH middle A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the LH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  6. Disconnect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  7. Remove the driver outboard footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell - Outboard - Driver (Remove and Replace).
  8. Remove the driver knee airbag. See Knee Airbag - Driver (Remove and Replace).
  9. Move the LH front cabin carpet aside for access.
  10. Use a clip prytool to release the clip that attaches the harness to the LH body controller.
  11. Disconnect the understood storage unit electrical connector from the LH body controller module.
  12. Release the connector lock, disconnect the body 1 electrical connector from the LH body controller module.
  13. Disconnect the body 3 electrical connector from the LH body controller module.
  14. Release the connector lock, disconnect the body 5 electrical connector from the LH body controller module.
  15. Release the connector lock, disconnect the body 4 electrical connector from the LH body controller module.
  16. Release the connector lock, disconnect the body 2 electrical connector from the LH body controller module.
  17. Disconnect the body 6 electrical connector from the LH body controller module.
  18. Release the connector lock, disconnect the power electrical connector from the LH body controller module.
  19. Disconnect the door 2 electrical connector from the LH body controller module.
  20. Disconnect the door electrical connector from the LH body controller module.
  21. Release the connector lock, disconnect the dash electrical connector from the LH body controller module.
  22. Release the connector lock, disconnect the harness electrical connector.
  23. Remove and discard the nut that attaches the LH body controller to the body.

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
  24. Lift the LH body controller module upwards carefully to release the tab, and then remove the LH body controller module from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Install the LH body controller module to the vehicle.
  2. Install a new nut that attaches the LH body controller to the body.
    6 Nm (4.4 lbs-ft)

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
  3. Connect the harness electrical connector.
  4. Connect the dash electrical connector to the LH body controller module.
  5. Connect the door electrical connector to the LH body controller module.
  6. Connect the door 2 electrical connector to the LH body controller module.
  7. Connect the power electrical connector to the LH body controller module.
  8. Connect the body 6 electrical connector to the LH body controller module.
  9. Connect the body 2 electrical connector to the LH body controller module.
  10. Connect the body 4 electrical connector to the LH body controller module.
  11. Connect the body 5 electrical connector to the LH body controller module.
  12. Connect the body 3 electrical connector to the LH body controller module.
  13. Connect the body 1 electrical connector to the LH body controller module.
  14. Connect the understood storage unit electrical connector to the LH body controller module.
  15. Fasten the clip that attaches the harness to the LH body controller.
  16. Return the LH main carpet back in place.
  17. Install the driver knee airbag. See Knee Airbag - Driver (Remove and Replace).
  18. Install the driver outboard footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell - Outboard - Driver (Remove and Replace).
  19. Connect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  20. Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway (Unlock).
  21. Perform the following routine using Service Mode or Toolbox (see 0005 - Service Modes): UPDATE_CAN-REDEPLOYvia Toolbox: (link)via Service Mode Plus:
    • Drive Inverter Replacement ➜ Drive Inverter DIRE1L Replacement ➜ CAN Redeploy
    • Drive Inverter Replacement ➜ Drive Inverter DIRE1R Replacement ➜ CAN Redeploy
    • Drive Inverter Replacement ➜ Drive Inverter DIRE2 Replacement ➜ CAN Redeploy
    • Drive Inverter ➜ Front Drive Inverter Replacement ➜ CAN Redeploy
    • Drive Inverter ➜ Rear Drive Inverter Replacement ➜ CAN Redeploy
    • Drive Inverter ➜ Rear Left Drive Inverter Replacement ➜ CAN Redeploy
    • Drive Inverter ➜ Rear Right Drive Inverter Replacement ➜ CAN Redeploy

  22. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  23. Install the LH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  24. Install the LH middle A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
  25. Install the LH IP end cap. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
  26. Install the LH front sill panel trim. See Trim - Sill Panel - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  27. Move the LH front seat back to its original position.
  28. Perform the following routine using Service Mode or Toolbox (see 0005 - Service Modes):
