Actuator - Pedestrian Protection - LH (EMEA) (Remove and Replace)

CAUTION
Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) components can be hazardous if not serviced and handled correctly. See Air Bag and Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) Precautions
CAUTION
In the event of an airbag or seatbelt pretensioner deployment, certain components must be replaced, and other components must be inspected for damage. Refer to the Collision Repair Manual for a specific list of items that must be inspected and replaced.

Install

  1. Install the bolts (x2) that attach the LH pedestrian protection actuator to the vehicle.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
    • 4 in extension
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
  2. Install the clip that attaches the LH pedestrian protection actuator connector to the vehicle, and then connect the connector.
  3. Install the cowl screen panel and other components removed during removal of the cowl screen panel. See Panel - Cowl Screen (Remove and Replace).
  4. Connect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  5. If necessary, calibrate the falcon wing doors.
