Gap Hider - Steering Column - Upper (Remove and Replace)

Remove
- Open the LH and RH front doors.
- Lower the LH and RH front windows.
- Remove the LH and RH middle A-pillar trims. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the LH and RH instrumental panel end caps. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
- On the vehicle touchscreen, touch , and then use the left steering wheel scroll wheel to adjust steering column fully rearwards, and downwards.
- Disconnect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
- Remove the center console phone dock. See Phone Dock - Center Console (Remove and Replace).

Remove the instrument panel service panel. See Service Panel - Instrument Panel (Remove and Replace).
NoteIt is not necessary to remove the cabin temperature sensor fan from the service panel.

Remove the touchscreen. See Touchscreen (HW3) (Remove and Replace).
NoteIt is not necessary to remove the display mechanism from the touchscreen after the assembly has been removed from the instrument panel.

Release the tabs (x4) that attach the instrument panel closeout panel to the instrument panel, and then remove the closeout panel from the instrument panel.
- Remove the RH instrument panel middle trim. See Trim - Middle - Instrument Panel - RH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the main instrument panel decor. See Decor - Instrument Panel - Main (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the steering yoke/wheel. See Steering Yoke/Wheel (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the steering column upper shroud. See Shroud - Upper - Steering Column (Remove and Replace).

Release the clips (x4) and datums (x2) that attach the upper steering column gap hider to the upper shroud, and then remove the gap hider from the upper shroud.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Clip pry tool
Install

Position the upper steering column gap hider on the upper shroud, and then install the clips (x4) and datums (x2) that attach the gap hider to the upper shroud.
- Install the steering column upper shroud. See Shroud - Upper - Steering Column (Remove and Replace).
- Install the steering yoke/wheel. See Steering Yoke/Wheel (Remove and Replace).
- Install the main instrument panel decor. See Decor - Instrument Panel - Main (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the RH instrument panel middle trim. See Trim - Middle - Instrument Panel - RH (Remove and Replace).

Position the instrument panel closeout panel on the instrument panel, and then install the tabs (x4) that attach the closeout panel to the instrument panel.
- Install the touchscreen. See Touchscreen (HW3) (Remove and Replace).
- Install the instrument panel service panel. See Service Panel - Instrument Panel (Remove and Replace).
- Connect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).

Calibrate the rear doors.
NoteIf the "Calibration Needed" message appears on the vehicle touchscreen, touch and hold Calibrate to calibrate the rear doors.
- Install the center console phone dock. See Phone Dock - Center Console (Remove and Replace).
- On the vehicle touchscreen, touch , and then use the left steering wheel scroll wheel to adjust the steering column into original position.
- Install the LH and RH instrumental panel end caps. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the LH and RH middle A-pillar trims. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Raise the LH and RH front windows.
- Close the LH and RH front doors.
