1. Open all four doors
2. Lower all four windows
3. Move LH front seat forward
4. Open hood
   Note

   Via center display > Controls > Frunk Open
5. Open charge port door using UI
   Note

   Control > Charging > Open Charge Port
6. Remove rear underhood apron
   Note

   11x clips, 2x datums

   

   

7. Open liftgate
8. Remove LH rear sill assembly
   Note

   8x clips, 1x datum

   

   

9. Move RH front seat forward
10. Remove RH rear sill assembly
    Note

    8x clips, 1x datum

    

    

11. Remove 2nd row floor mat

    

12. Remove 2nd row mid floor board
    Note

    5x clips, Recommend assistance, Tilt front edge upwards and remove in vertical position

    

    

13. Move LH Monopost seat forward
14. Move RH Monopost seat forward
15. Remove RH trunk sill side trim
    Note

    4x clips, 1x datum

    

    

16. Remove RH mid C-pillar trim
    Note

    1x screw, T20, 2 Nm, 9x clips

    

    

    

17. Remove RH lower C-pillar
    Note

    1x patch bolt, T25, 2.5 Nm, 2x screws, T20, 2 Nm, Discard patch bolt after removal

    

    

    

18. Remove LH trunk sill side trim
    Note

    4x clips, 1x datum

    

    

19. Remove LH mid C-pillar trim
    Note

    1x screw, T20, 2 Nm, 9x clips, 5x tabs

    

    

    

20. Remove LH lower C-pillar
    Note

    1x patch bolt, T25, 2.5 Nm, 2x screws, T20, 2 Nm, Discard patch bolt after removal

    

    

    

21. Remove 2nd row rear floor board
    Note

    2x clips, Recommend assistance

    

    

22. Remove busbar duct assembly
    Note

    2x bolts, 10mm, 2.5 Nm

    

    

23. Move 2nd row LH monopost seat fully backward using the comfort button

    

24. Remove 2nd row LH monopost seat inboard and outboard covers
    Note

    8x clips, Release outward starting from upper section of trim and work downward

    

    

25. Peel back 2nd row LH monopost sliding panel carpet
    Note

    Carpet is one time use, Replace after peeling from podium

    

26. Remove screws securing 2nd row LH monopost seat sliding panel to seat base
    Note

    2x screws, T25, 2.5 Nm

    

27. Remove 2nd row LH monopost seat sliding panel
    Note

    2x tabs, Gently slide panel forward to release from tabs, Once tabs are clear lift up and remove panel

    

28. Remove 2nd row LH monopost seat carpet from sliding panel
    Note

    Remove remaining adhesive residue

    

29. Remove bolts securing front portion of 2nd row LH monopost seat tracks to floor
    Note

    7x bolts, 11mm, 33 Nm, Discard patch bolts after removal

    

30. Move 2nd row LH monopost seat fully forward using the comfort button

    

31. Remove bolts securing 2nd row LH monopost seat tracks to floor
    Note

    4x bolts, 11mm, 33 Nm, Discard patch bolts after removal

    

32. Adjust 2nd row LH monopost seat for removal
    Note

    Place in comfortable position for easy removal

    

33. Remove trunk pocket load floor

    

34. Remove trunk rear load floor

    

35. Remove trunk tub floor insulator

    

36. Remove trunk carpet

    

    

37. Remove trunk sill trim
    Note

    4x clips, 2x patch bolts, T25, 2.5 Nm, Discard patch bolts after removal

    

    

    

38. Remove rear wall load support
    Note

    4x push clips, 2x clips

    

    

    

39. Remove LH crush can bracket
    Note

    3x clips, 1 datum

    

    

40. Remove LH soft trim pocket bracket
    Note

    1x push clip, 1 datum

    

    

    

41. Fold LH 3rd row seat back into down position

    

42. Remove fasteners securing LH upper C-pillar trim to bracket
    Note

    3x screws, T20, 2 Nm, 1x patch bolt, T25, 3 Nm, Discard patch bolt after removal

    

43. Remove LH upper C-pillar trim
    Note

    6x clips, 1x datum

    

    

44. Remove LH mid C-pillar zone bracket
    Note

    2x screws, T20, 2.5 Nm, 4x push clips

    

45. Remove LH trunk side trim carpet
    Note

    4x push clips, 1x connector

    

    

46. Remove LH trunk side trim bracket
    Note

    2x bolts, T30, 2.5 Nm, 1x push clip

    

    

47. Fold down 3rd row seat backs
    Note

    Fold seat backs at ~40 degrees to ease removal of seat cushion

    

    

    

48. Disconnect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
49. Perform the charge port voltage check procedure. See Charge Port Voltage Check.
50. Release 3rd row seat harness trays from seat frame
    Note

    4x push clips

    

    

51. Disconnect 3rd row seat assembly connections
    Note

    11x connectors, Release tab and slide connector housing off tray to remove

    

    

52. Remove 3rd row seat cushion from vehicle
    Note

    2x clips, While pushing down on cushion, feel for rocket clips and disengage locking tabs, Clips located on both ends of seat cushion, Feed cushion harnesses below 3rd row seat backs, Place cushion on protected surface

    

    

    

53. Release 2nd row LH monopost seat inline harness bracket from 2nd row front floor bracket
    Note

    2x tabs, Release bracket upward

    

54. Disconnect 2nd row LH monopost seat harness
    Note

    3x connectors, Disengage red locking tab and disconnect connector while releasing from opposite end of black bracket

    

    

55. Release LH 2nd row monopost seat harness from LH side mid floor common bracket
    Note

    1x clip

    

56. Remove 2nd row LH monopost seat from vehicle
    Note

    Recommend assistance

    

57. Remove LH inner reinforcement from body
    Note

    9x bolts, T40, 27 Nm, Use a T40 socket with 8mm wrench to loosen the lower 2 bolts to avoid removal of 3rd row seat frame, Then use hex bit ratchet to remove bolts fully, All other bolts can be removed with 1/4in. Dr. ratchet and 1/4in. Dr. T40 socket

    

    

58. Release charge port connector
    Note

    1x connector, Carefully remove white locking tab, Depress tab to release connection from the charge port, Continue to pull off connector, The connection is intended to disengage the safety cap when released

    

    

59. Release AC inlet harness from charge port
    Note

    1x connector, Release dual step locking tab

    

60. Remove charge port safety cap
    Note

    3x tabs

    

    

    

61. Remove nuts securing charge port busbar to charge port and remove busbar leads from studs
    Note

    2x nuts, 11 mm, 9 Nm, Nuts have captured washers, Take caution of any tension present with the busbar

    

62. Release AC inlet harness from body
    Note

    1x connector, Release locking tab

    

63. Release clips securing AC inlet harness
    Note

    4x clips

    

    

    

    

64. Remove bolt securing busbar HV connector lid
    Note

    1x bolt, 10mm, 9 Nm

    

65. Remove bolts securing HV connector to DC FC header
    Note

    2x bolts, 10mm, 9 Nm

    

66. Remove HV connector from DC FC header

    

    

67. Remove busbar assembly from vehicle
    Note

    Recommend assistance, Remove busbar assembly from LH falcon door opening

    

    

    

68. Clean charge port assembly busbar contact surface of residual penetrox
    Note

    Use plastic trim tool to push IPA wipe down between plastic divider, Allow 1 minute dry time

    

    

69. Verify charge port studs are torqued to proper specification
    Note

    2x studs, T10, 2 Nm

    

70. Clean DC FC header contact surface of residual Penetrox
    Note

    Allow 1 minute dry time after wiping away Penetrox, New busbar comes with penetrox applied to HV connector

    

71. Position busbar assembly into vehicle for installation
    Note

    New busbar assembly comes with Penetrox A-13 applied on HV connector side

    

    

72. Install HV connector onto DC FC header
    Note

    Verify connector is fully seated

    

73. Install bolts securing HV connector to DC FC header
    Note

    2x bolts, 10mm, 9 Nm

    

74. Install clips securing AC inlet harness
    Note

    4x clips

    

    

    

    

75. Secure AC inlet harness from HV battery
    Note

    1x connector, Secure locking tab

    

76. Apply Penetrox to backside of busbar leads
    Note

    Apply 2 drops of Penetrox A-13 about 5mm in diameter to either side of the hole on both leads, Spread evenly to verify the contact surface is fully covered

    

77. Install charge port busbar leads to charge port assembly
    Note

    2x nuts, 11 mm, 9 Nm, Nuts have captured washers, If excessive force is required to seat busbars, they may have been bent. Inspect for damage and replace if necessary

    

78. Inspect HV insulating gloves
    Note

    Check gloves for damage prior to use, Refer to service document TN-15-92-003, for information on inspecting HV gloves. https://service.teslamotors.com/documents?model=&keys=TN-15-92-003&vehicle_system=&sort_by=field_date_submitted&sort_order=DESC

    

79. Put on HV insulating gloves and leather over gloves

    

80. Perform Hioki resistance test at each HV joint from HV busbar lead to charge port stud
    Note

    2x HV joints, Measure both joints at the highlighted locations, The acceptable resistance is between 0.050 mΩ (50 μΩ) and 0.270 mΩ (270 μΩ). If the resistance is greater than 0.270 mΩ (270 μΩ), stop work and escalate the Toolbox session. If the resistance is lower than 0.050 mΩ (50 μΩ), reposition the probes and measure again. If the resistance is repeatedly between 0.00 mΩ and 0.050 mΩ (50 μΩ), Hioki test passed, proceed to next step.

    

81. Perform Hioki resistance test at each HV joint from HV busbar lead to bolt head
    Note

    2x HV joints, Measure both joints at the highlighted locations, The acceptable resistance is between 0.050 mΩ (50 μΩ) and 0.195 mΩ (195 μΩ). If the resistance is greater than 0.195 mΩ (195 μΩ), stop work and escalate the Toolbox session. If the resistance is lower than 0.050 mΩ (50 μΩ), reposition the probes and measure again. If the resistance is repeatedly between 0.00 mΩ and 0.050 mΩ (50 μΩ), Hioki test passed, proceed to next step

    

82. Remove leather over gloves and HV insulating gloves

    

83. Install bolt securing HV connector lid
    Note

    1x bolt, 10mm, 9 Nm

    

84. Install charge port safety cap
    Note

    3x tabs, Safety cap will click into position

    

    

    

    

85. Secure AC inlet harness onto charge port
    Note

    1x connector, Secure dual step locking tab

    

86. Secure charge port connections
    Note

    1x connector, Fully engage connection and white locking tab, The connector is intended to lock the safety cap in place

    

    

87. Install LH inner reinforcement to body
    Note

    9x bolts, T40, 27 Nm, To avoid removal of 3rd row seat frame, Use hex bit ratchet to fully seat bottom 2 bolts prior to torque

    

    

88. Install 3rd row seat cushion
    Note

    2x securing tabs, Feed cushion harness's below 3rd row seat backs

    

    

89. Connect 3rd row seat cushion connections and secure to brackets
    Note

    11x connectors, Secure connector housing onto tray

    

    

90. Install 3rd row seat harness trays
    Note

    4x push clips

    

    

91. Install 2nd row LH monopost seat into vehicle
    Note

    Recommend assistance

    

92. Connect 2nd row LH monopost seat harness
    Note

    2x connectors, Connect from opposite end of black bracket, Then engage red locking tabs

    

    

93. Install 2nd row LH monopost seat inline harness bracket onto sliding panel base
    Note

    2x tabs, slide tabs downward to engage

    

94. Install LH 2nd row monopost seat harness onto LH side mid floor common bracket
    Note

    1x clip

    

95. Connect First Responder Loop and LV battery connector
    Note

    2x connectors, Secure FRL first, Seat LV battery connection and push black connector lock inwards to secure, Engage upper locking tab when fully seated

    

    

96. Install rear underhood apron
    Note

    11x clips, 2x datums

    

    

97. Close hood

    

98. Verify operation of vehicle charging system

    

    

99. Close charge port door

    

100. Fold LH 3rd row seat back into down position

     

101. Install LH trunk side trim bracket
     Note

     2x bolts, T30, 2.5 Nm, 1x push clip

     

     

102. Install LH trunk side trim carpet
     Note

     4x push clips, 1x connector, Place Clip into trim tool to aide installation of lower clip.

     

     

103. Secure charge port manual release cable onto LH mid C-pillar zone bracket
     Note

     1x fir tree clip

     

104. Install LH mid C-pillar zone bracket
     Note

     2x screws, T20, 2.5 Nm, 4x push clips

     

105. Install LH upper C-pillar trim
     Note

     6x clips, 1x datum

     

     

106. Install fasteners securing LH upper C-pillar trim to bracket
     Note

     3x screws, T20, 2 Nm, 1x patch bolt, T25, 2 Nm, Install new patch bolt

     

107. Move 2nd row LH monopost seat fully forward using easy entry button

     

108. Loosely install bolts securing 2nd row LH monopost rear seat tracks to floor
     Note

     4x bolts, 11mm, Torque at later step, Install new patch bolts

     

109. Move 2nd row LH monopost seat fully backward using easy entry button

     

110. Install bolts securing 2nd row LH monopost front seat tracks to floor
     Note

     7x bolts, 11mm, 33 Nm, Install new patch bolts, Follow torque sequence shown in image

     

111. Move 2nd row LH monopost seat fully forward using easy entry button

     

112. Torque bolts securing 2nd row LH monopost rear seat tracks to floor

123. Install LH mid C-pillar trim

     9x clips, 5x tabs, 1x screw, T20, 2 Nm

     

     

     

124. Install LH soft trim pocket bracket
     Note

     1x push clip, 1 datum

     

     

     

125. Install LH crush can bracket

     3x clips, 1 datum

     

     

126. Install rear wall load floor support

     4x push clips, 2x clips

     

     

     

127. Install rear trunk sill trim
