Hose - Supermanifold To Offboard Battery Pump (Remove and Replace)

- Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Install).

Release RH wiper arm hose nozzle

Release LH wiper arm hose nozzle
Note1x hose

Remove LH wiper arm nut cover
Note1x cover

Remove RH wiper arm nut covers
Note2x cover
-
Remove RH wiper arm nuts and release assembly
Note2x nuts, 15mm, 32 Nm, Do not flex wiper arm to remove

Remove LH wiper arm nut and release assembly
Note1x nut, 15mm, 32 Nm, Do not flex wiper arm to remove, Lower the hood slightly to fit wiper arm removal tool

Release cowl screen washer supply hose located above LH shock tower cover

Remove RH outer hood hinge cover
Note1x clips

Remove LH outer hood hinge cover
Note1x clips

Remove wiper cowl screen panel
Note4x push clips, Pull cowl up out of lower windshield channel

Power off vehicle via center display
NoteControls > Safety & Security > Power Off

Disconnect LV battery connector and First Responder Loop
Note2x connectors, Lift up and release green locking tab, Pull black connector lock outwards to release connection, Release red lock tab on FRL

Release clip securing the supermanifold to battery pump supply hose from LV battery
Note1x clip

Remove fasteners securing the LV battery and remove assembly
Note3x bolts, 10mm, 9 Nm, 2x locators
-
Place absorbent material below chiller to battery pump hose at supermanifold
NotePlace absorbent material to catch coolant loss
-
Disconnect chiller to battery hose from supermanifold
Note1x spring clip

Place absorbent material below battery coolant pump
NotePlace absorbent material to catch coolant loss
-
Release battery coolant temp sensor connection
Note1x locking connector, Disengage red locking tab and slide tab outwards to release connection

Release supermanifold to battery supply hose from battery pump
Note1x hose clip, 2x plugs, Plug both ends, Remove hose from vehicle

Secure supermanifold to battery pump supply hose to battery pump
Note1x hose clip, Remove any plugs and secure hose, Perform push-pull-push test

Secure battery coolant temp sensor connection
Note1x locking connector, Secure connector and fully engage red locking tab

Secure chiller to battery pump hose to the supermanifold
Note1x hose clip, Remove any plugs and secure hose, Perform push-pull-push test

Remove absorbent material below chiller to battery pump hose at supermanifold and under battery pump
NoteClean away excess residue as needed

Install LV battery to multi-system beam
Note3x bolts, 10mm, 9 Nm. 2x locators

Install clip securing the supermanifold to battery pump supply hose onto LV battery
Note1x clip

Install wiper cowl screen panel
Note4x push clips, Secure cowl into lower windshield channel

Install LH outer hood hinge cover
Note1x clips
-
Install RH outer hood hinge cover
Note1x clips
-
Secure cowl screen washer supply hose located above LH shock tower cover
Note1x hose
-
Install RH wiper arm assembly and secure nuts
Note2x nuts, 15mm, 32 Nm, Line up wiper to reference mark on windshield

Install LH wiper arm assembly and secure nut
Note1x nut, 15mm, 32 Nm
-
Secure LH wiper arm hose nozzle
Note1x hose, Hose is routed above the arm pivot
-
Secure RH wiper arm hose nozzle
Note1x hose, Hose is routed below the arm pivot
-
Install RH wiper arm nut covers
Note2x cover
-
Install LH wiper arm nut cover
Note1x cover
-
Remove coolant bottle cap
-
Fill coolant to the proper level
NoteEnsure that the fluid level filled to the Max line
-
Connect First Responder Loop and LV battery connector
Note2x connectors, Secure FRL first, Seat LV battery connection and push black connector lock inwards to secure, Engage upper locking tab when fully seated

Release IP service panel
Note4x tabs, 2x datums

Using laptop connect to vehicle with ethernet diag kit and Toolbox 3
NoteOpen Toolbox 3 website and establish connection to the vehicle, https://toolbox.teslamotors.com, For local connection issues with Toolbox 3 refer to https://toolbox.teslamotors.com/articles/43695, Media converter box is powered by laptop using USB, Ethernet connection will provide communication

Select "Actions/Autodiag" tab and search for "Purge"

NoteMake sure vehicle is not in drive state, Routine is still running despite the stop message, Coolant pumps will be audible, Test lasts approximately 10 mins, Putting vehicle into drive state will stop this routine, Monitor levels as required

Disconnect Toolbox 3 from vehicle and remove laptop and ethernet diag kit

Install IP service panel
Note2x tabs, 4 datums, Slide forward engaging datums then secure tabs upward into IP

Inspect coolant level and top off as necessary
NoteEnsure that the fluid level is at the Max line, Top off fluid as required

Install coolant bottle cap
- Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Install).

Remove vehicle from lift
NoteLower rack arms fully and remove them from under vehicle, Remove air suspension from "Jack Mode"
