Brake Lines - Rear - LH to Sill (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open all the doors and open all the windows.
  2. Remove the LH and LH rocker panel moldings. See Molding - Rocker Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
  3. Raise and support the vehicle on a 2 post lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  4. Remove all wheels. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  5. Open the hood.
  6. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  7. Remove the LH and RH underhood aprons. See Underhood Apron - LH (Remove and Replace).
  8. Remove the front underhood apron. Underhood Apron - Front (Remove and Replace).
  9. Remove the underhood storage unit access panel. See Underhood Storage Unit Access Panel (Remove and Replace).
  10. Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Install).
  11. Open the liftgate.
  12. Move the driver and front passenger seats fully forward.
  13. Remove the LH and RH rear sill panel trims. See Trim - Sill Panel - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  14. Remove the 2nd row floor mat.
  15. Remove the 2nd row mid floor panel. See:
  16. Move the LH and RH 2nd row seats forward, if equipped.
  17. Remove the LH and RH side rear trunk garnishes. See Garnish - Rear Trunk - Side - LH (Remove and Replace).
  18. Remove the LH and RH mid C-pillar trims. See Trim - C-Pillar - Mid - LH (Remove and Replace).
  19. Remove the LH and RH lower C-pillar trims. See Trim - C-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  20. Remove the 2nd row rear floor panel. See:
  21. Remove the LH 3rd row busbar duct. See Duct - Busbar - 3rd Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
  22. Remove the rear trunk load floor. See Trunk Load Floor - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  23. Remove the side trunk load floor. See Trunk Load Floor - Side (Remove and Replace).
  24. Remove the trunk sill trim. See Trim - Sill - Trunk (Remove and Replace).
  25. Remove the rear trunk floor NVH insulator. See NVH Insulator - Floor - Rear Trunk (Remove and Replace).
  26. Remove the LH rear trunk crush can trim. See Trim - Crush Can - Rear Trunk - LH (Remove and Replace).
  27. Release the clip that attaches the LH soft trim pocket bracket.
  28. Fold the LH 3rd row down.
  29. Remove the LH upper C-pillar trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
  30. Remove the LH mid C-pillar zone bracket. See:
  31. Remove the LH trunk trim carpet. See Carpet - Trim - Trunk - LH (Remove and Replace).
  32. Remove the LH trunk trim bracket. See Bracket - Trim - Trunk - LH (Remove and Replace).
  33. Raise the LH 3rd row seat back into the upright position.
  34. Connect a laptop with Toolbox to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  35. In Toolbox, click Actions/Autodiag, and then search for ‘Thermal.’
  36. Click Start Thermal Fluid Fill/Drain (Coolant only), and then click Run. Allow the routine to complete.

    Verify the vehicle is in Series via Garage > Vitals > HP tab > Coolant loops

    The Thermal Fluid Fill/Drain routine has a 5 hour limit. After 5 hours, the routine must be performed again.
  37. Release the LH and RH electric park brakes. See Park Brake Caliper - Release.
  38. Disconnect the laptop from the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  39. Disconnect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  40. Remove the 3rd row seat cushion. See Cushion - Seat - 3rd Row (Remove and Replace).
  41. Remove the LH inner reinforcement. See Reinforcement - Inner - LH (Remove and Replace).
  42. Remove the HV battery. See HV Battery (AWD) (Remove and Install).
  43. Remove the rear subframe assembly. See Subframe Assembly - Rear (Remove and Install).
  44. Position a oil drain container underneath the LH rear corner of the vehicle.
  45. Release the clips (x2) for the sill brake line junction blocks.
  46. Remove the nut that attaches the side sill brake pipe assembly to the LH rear brake lines.
    16 Nm (11.8 lbs-ft)

    • 12 mm socket
  47. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the brake junction block to the RH sill.
    6 Nm (4.4 lbs-ft)

    • Torx T30 socket
  48. Remove the nut that attaches the LH rear jounce hose to the LH rear brake lines, and then disconnect the brake lines.
    16 Nm (11.8 lbs-ft)

    • 12 mm socket

    Note
    Catch any brake fluid lost in the oil drain container.
  49. Release the clips (x7) that attach the LH rear brake lines to the body, and then remove the brake lines from the vehicle.

    Allow any remaining brake fluid to drain into the oil drain container.
  50. Remove the oil drain container from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Install the LH rear brake lines on the vehicle, and then secure the brake lines with clips (x7).
  2. Install the nut that attaches the LH rear jounce hose to the LH rear brake lines.
    16 Nm (11.8 lbs-ft)

  3. Install the bolts (x2) that attach the brake junction block to the RH sill.
    6 Nm (4.4 lbs-ft)

  4. Install the nut that attaches the side sill brake pipe assembly to the LH rear brake lines.
    16 Nm (11.8 lbs-ft)

  5. Install the retention clips (x2) for the sill brake line junction blocks.
  6. Install the rear subframe assembly. See Subframe Assembly - Rear (Remove and Install).
  7. Install the HV battery. See HV Battery (AWD) (Remove and Install).
  8. Install the LH inner reinforcement. See Reinforcement - Inner - LH (Remove and Replace).
  9. Install the 3rd row seat cushion. See Cushion - Seat - 3rd Row (Remove and Replace).
  10. Refill the cooling system. See Cooling System (Vacuum Refill).
  11. Bleed the brakes. See Brake Fluid Bleed/Flush (Remove and Replace).
  12. Install all wheels. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  13. Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Install).
  14. Install the underhood storage unit access panel. See Underhood Storage Unit Access Panel (Remove and Replace).
  15. Install the front underhood apron. Underhood Apron - Front (Remove and Replace).
  16. Install the LH and RH underhood aprons. See Underhood Apron - LH (Remove and Replace).
  17. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  18. Install the LH trunk trim bracket. See Bracket - Trim - Trunk - LH (Remove and Replace).
  19. Install the LH mid C-pillar zone bracket. See:
  20. Raise the LH 3rd row seat back into the upright position.
  21. Install the LH upper C-pillar trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
  22. Install the LH 3rd row busbar duct. See Duct - Busbar - 3rd Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
  23. Install the 2nd row rear floor panel. See:

  25. Install the LH mid C-pillar trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Mid - LH (Remove and Replace).
  26. Fasten the push clip that attaches LH soft trim pocket bracket, and then install the bracket.
  27. Install the LH rear trunk crush can trim. See Trim - Crush Can - Rear Trunk - LH (Remove and Replace).
  28. Install the rear trunk floor NVH insulator. See NVH Insulator - Floor - Rear Trunk (Remove and Replace).
  29. Install the trunk sill trim. See Trim - Sill - Trunk (Remove and Replace).
  30. Install the trunk carpet.
  31. Install the trunk tub floor insulator.
  32. Install the side trunk load floor. See Trunk Load Floor - Side (Remove and Replace).
  33. Install the RH lower C-pillar trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  34. Install the RH mid C-pillar trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Mid - LH (Remove and Replace).
  35. Install the LH and RH side rear trunk garnishes. See Garnish - Rear Trunk - Side - LH (Remove and Replace).
  36. Install the rear trunk load floor. See Trunk Load Floor - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  37. Close the liftgate.
  38. Calibrate the rear doors.

    If the "Calibration Needed" message appears on the vehicle touchscreen, touch and hold Calibrate to calibrate the rear doors.
