Retractor - Seatbelt - 1st Row - LH (Remove and Replace)

Remove
- Open the LH doors and lower the LH front window.
- Move the LH front seat forward.

Use a flathead screwdriver to
rotate the lock mechanism on the front seat belt linkage counterclockwise to
release it from the pretensioner, and then slide the linkage off the
pretensioner and set it aside.
CAUTIONDO NOT rotate clockwise to avoid damage to the mechanism.NoteThe linkage design may vary, but will function the same.NoteThe lock screw will remain in the horizontal position when released.NoteA light audible click will be heard when the linkage is released.

Release the LH front door seal from
the B-pillar trim.
- Remove the LH front sill panel trim. See Trim - Sill Panel - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the LH rear sill panel trim. See Trim - Sill Panel - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the LH lower B-pillar trim. See Trim - B-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the LH upper B-pillar trim. See Trim - B-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).

Remove and discard the nut that
attaches the LH 1st row upper seatbelt to the vehicle.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 17 mm deep socket
- Ratchet/torque wrench
- Remove the LH 1st row seatbelt intermediate web guide. See Seatbelt Intermediate Web Guide (Remove and Replace).

Disconnect the LH 1st row seatbelt
retractor connectors (x2).
NoteSlide both orange locking tabs on the sides of the connector towards the rear of the connector at the same time to release the connector.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Flat head screwdriver

Remove and discard the bolt that
attaches the LH 1st row seatbelt retractor to the vehicle, and then remove the retractor
from the vehicle.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 3 in extension
- 13 mm socket
- Ratchet/torque wrench
Install

Position the LH 1st row seatbelt
retractor on the vehicle, and then install a new bolt that attaches the retractor to the
vehicle.NoteWhen the retractor is removed from the vehicle, the seatbelt webbing will only extend if the retractor is in as-installed orientation.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 3 in extension
- 13 mm socket
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
- Ratchet/torque wrench

Connect the LH 1st row seatbelt
retractor connectors (x2).
NoteEnsure the connectors are seated properly and secure.

Install a new nut that attaches the LH
1st row upper seatbelt to the vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 17 mm deep socket
- Ratchet/torque wrench
- Install the LH upper B-pillar trim. See Trim - B-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the LH rear sill panel trim. See Trim - Sill Panel - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the LH front sill panel trim. See Trim - Sill Panel - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).

Fully seat the LH front door seal on
the B-pillar trim.

Install the front seat belt
linkage to the pretensioner:
- Move the LH front seat to original position.
- Close the LH falcon wing door.
- Raise the LH front window.
- Close the LH front door.
