Actuator Assembly - Release - EZ Entry - 2nd Row - LH (7 Seat) (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Remove the LH 2nd row seat assembly from the vehicle. See Seat Assembly - 2nd Row - LH (7 Seat) (Remove and Replace).
  2. Move the LH 2nd row seat backs to the upright position.
  3. Release the J-hooks (x6) that attach the rear toe kick to the LH 2nd row seat assembly.

    Note
    Release lower outer hooks (x2) to expose the inner clips (x4).
  4. Disconnect the 2nd row center seatbelt buckle electrical connector, and then release the edge clip that attaches the connector to the seat assembly.
  5. Remove and discard the bolt that attaches the 2nd row center seatbelt buckle to the seat assembly, and then remove the buckle from the seat assembly.
    45 Nm (33.2 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T50 socket
  6. Remove the LH 2nd row recliner lever. See Lever - Recliner - 2nd Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
  7. Remove the LH 2nd row recliner cover. See Cover - Recliner - 2nd Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
  8. Remove the bolt that attaches the LH 2nd row outer seatbelt to the seat assembly, and then remove the seatbelt from the seat assembly.
    45 Nm (33.2 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T50 socket
  9. Release the J-hooks (x11) that attach the underside of the LH 2nd row seat upholstery to the seat assembly.
  10. Disconnect the LH 2nd row seat seat cushion electrical connectors (x4), and then release the clips (x2) that attach the black connectors (x2) to the seat frame
  11. Remove the LH 2nd row seat cushion assembly from the seat assembly.

    CAUTION
    Use caution when feeding the J-hooks and connectors through the seat frame.
  12. Remove the screw that attaches the LH 2nd row EZ entry release actuator assembly to the bracket.
    1 Nm (.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • T15 socket
  13. Release the tabs that attach the LH 2nd row EZ entry release actuator assembly to the bracket, and then remove the bracket from the seat assembly.
  14. Remove the screw that attaches the splitter box to the LH 2nd row seat assembly.
    1.5 Nm (1.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • T20 socket
  15. Cut the cable ties (x2) that secure the splitter box, and then release the tabs (x2) to open the splitter box.
  16. Disconnect the recline release actuator cable from the splitter box.

    The recline release actuator cable is the silver cable.
  17. Disconnect the recline release actuator electrical connector.
  18. Fold the LH 2nd row seat back to the down position.

    Use the LH recliner lever without installing the clip.
  19. Unzip the LH 2nd row seat back upholstery on both sides.

    Note
    Ends of the zippers are tucked underneath the upholstery. Use a pick to aid in moving the zipper.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Pick Miniature Soft Grip, 90 degree tip, 6 in
  20. Release 60 seat back upholstery and lift up.

    Note
    Release J-hook holding the back down.
  21. Release the clips (x13) that attach the LH 2nd row seat plastic seat back to the seat, and then remove the plastic seat back from the seat.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Clip prytool 20in
  22. Unfold the LH 2nd row seat back to the upright position.
  23. Release the lower part of the LH 2nd row seat back cushion.
  24. Remove the elastic bands (x2) at the RH outer hinge cover.
  25. Release the clips (x2) and tabs (x4) that attach the RH outer hinge cover to the seat assembly, and then remove the cover from the assembly.

    Note
    Pull the cover away from seat to release the clips, release tabs from bottom up, and then lift the cover to release the top edge from the seat frame.
  26. Remove the push clip that attaches the RH lower inner hinge cover to the seat assembly, and then remove the cover from the seat assembly.
  27. Release the recline release actuator cable clip from the seat frame.

    Note
    The clip is mounted along the lower rear of the seat frame.
  28. Remove the recline release actuator cable from the RH side cable mount.
  29. Remove the recline release actuator cable from the RH side hinge lever.

    Rotate the cable 90 degrees to align the tab, and then pull the cable away from the lever.
  30. Remove the screw and clips (x2) that attach the LH lower inner hinge cover to the seat assembly, and then remove the cover from the seat assembly.
    1.5 Nm (1.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • T20 socket
  31. Release the clip that attaches the LH side cable clip to the seat frame, and then remove the cable clip from the seat frame.
  32. Remove the recline release actuator cable from the LH side hinge lever.

    Note
    Rotate the cable 90 degrees to align the tab, and then pull the cable away from the lever.
  33. Release the clips (x2) that attach the LH 2nd row EZ entry release actuator assembly to the seat assembly, and then remove the actuator assembly from the seat assembly.

    Note
    One clip secures the splitter box near the center, and the other clip secures the cable on the RH side.

Install

  1. Position the LH 2nd row EZ entry release actuator assembly into the seat assembly, and then secure the clips (x2) that attach the actuator assembly to the seat assembly.

    Follow the routing as noted during removal.
  2. Secure the recline release actuator cable to the LH side hinge lever.

    Hold the hinge lever down so the hole is visible through the slot, insert the cable end, and then rotate 90 degrees to secure.
  3. Secure the clip that attaches the LH side cable clip to the seat frame.
  4. Position the LH lower inner hinge cover to the seat assembly, and then install the screw and clips (x2) that attach the cover to the seat assembly.
    1.5 Nm (1.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • T20 socket
  5. Secure the recline release actuator cable to the RH side hinge lever.

    Note
    Hold the hinge lever down to allow cable to reach the hole, insert the cable end, and then rotate 90 degrees to secure.
  6. Secure the recline release actuator cable to RH side cable mount.
  7. Secure the recline release actuator cable clip to the seat frame.

    Note
    The clip is mounted along the lower rear of the seat frame.
  8. Position the RH lower inner hinge cover into the seat assembly, and then install the clip that attaches the cover to the seat assembly.
  9. Position the RH outer hinge cover to the seat assembly, and then secure the clips (x2) and tabs (x4) that attach the cover to the assembly.

    Note
    Slide the upper tabs down onto the seat frame, and then secure the clips and tabs.
  10. Secure the elastic bands (x2) at the RH outer hinge cover.
  11. Install the lower part of the LH 2nd row seat back cushion.
  12. Fold the LH 2nd row seat back to the down position.
  13. Position the LH 2nd row seat plastic seat back on the seat, and then install the clips (x13) that attach the seat back to the seat.
  14. Zip the LH 2nd row seat back upholstery on both sides.

    CAUTION
    Use caution to not pull the zippers off the track.

    Note
    Use a pick to aid in moving the zipper. Tuck the ends of the zippers underneath the upholstery.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Pick Miniature Soft Grip, 90 degree tip, 6 in
  15. Secure lower portion of 60 seat back upholstery.

    Note
    Secure J-hook along lower edge.
  16. Fold the LH 2nd row seat back to the upright position.
  17. Connect recline release actuator.

    1x connector .
  18. Connect the recline release actuator cable to the splitter box.

    The recline release actuator cable is the silver cable.
  19. Secure the tabs (x2) to close the splitter box, and then install cable ties (x2) to secure the splitter box.

    Cut off excess cable tie ends.
  20. Install the screw that attaches the splitter box to the LH 2nd row seat assembly.
    1.5 Nm (1.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • T20 socket
  21. Position the bracket into the seat assembly, and then secure the tabs (x2) that attach the actuator bracket to the seat assembly.
  22. Install the screw that attaches the LH 2nd row EZ entry release actuator assembly to the bracket.
    1 Nm (.7 lbs-ft)

    Align the fastener with the actuator bracket.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • T15 socket
  23. Install the LH 2nd row seat cushion assembly into the seat assembly.

    CAUTION
    Use caution when feeding the J-hooks and connectors through the seat frame.
  24. Secure the black connectors (x2) to the LH 2nd row seat frame, and then connect the electrical connectors (x4).
  25. Secure the J-hooks (x11) that attach the underside of the LH 2nd row seat upholstery to the seat assembly.
  26. Position the LH 2nd row outer seat belt to the seat assembly, and then install a new bolt that attaches seatbelt to the seat assembly.
    45 Nm (33.2 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T50 socket
  27. Install the LH 2nd row recliner cover. See Cover - Recliner - 2nd Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
  28. Install the LH 2nd row recliner lever. See Lever - Recliner - 2nd Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
  29. Position the 2nd row center seatbelt buckle onto the seat assembly, and then install a new bolt that attaches the buckle to the seat assembly.
    45 Nm (33.2 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T50 socket
  30. Secure the edge clip that attaches the 2nd row center seatbelt buckle electrical connector to the seat assembly, and then connect the connector.
  31. Secure toe kick to 60 seat assembly.

    Note
    6x J-hooks, Secure inner 4 clips, then lower outer 2.
  32. Fold LH 2nd row seat to the down position.
  33. Install the LH 2nd row seat assembly into the vehicle. See Seat Assembly - 2nd Row - LH (7 Seat) (Remove and Replace).

    It is not necessary to redeploy the vehicle firmware after installing the seat assembly.
