Pedal Pad - Brake (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Manually latch the LH front door to prevent automatic door closure during brake pedal application.

    Do not close the door with the latch in this position.
  2. Move the driver seat fully rearwards.
  3. Remove the brake pedal pad.

    Release the brake pedal pad retaining flaps, and then peel the brake pedal pad from the brake pedal.

Install

  1. Clean the brake pedal with Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) wipes. Allow 1 minute for the IPA to dry before continuing.
  2. Put a mirror behind the brake pedal.
  3. Apply a thin layer of P-80 Emulsion temporary rubber assembly lubricant to the mounting grooves of the brake pedal pad, and then insert a wire into the top grove of the brake pedal pad.

    Wire specifications: 300 mm long, 16-18 AWG.
  4. Install the brake pedal pad: While pushing down on the center of the brake pedal pad, engage the brake pedal into the three groves at both sides and the bottom, and then rotate the brake pedal pad into position.

    Make sure both sides and bottom retaining flaps of the brake pedal pad are secure.
  5. Secure the brake pedal pad: Apply pressure to the top portion of the pedal pad while pulling the wire forward to engage the top retaining flap to the brake pedal.

    Make sure all four retaining flaps are secured to brake pedal.
  6. Restore the driver seat back to its original position.
  7. Release the LH front door latch.

    Push simultaneously on the exterior door release handle and push door latch open.
