Line - Air Suspension (Repair)

Procedure

  1. Inspect the damaged area on the air line.
    • Only repair the air line if the repairable section is at least 50mm away from any molded sections of the air line.
    • Only repair the air line if the damage is no greater than 5mm, which is the maximum allowable length that can be cut.
    • Only 1 repair is allowed per air line.
    • If the air line cannot be repaired to factory level quality at any point in this procedure, discontinue this procedure and replace the air line assembly.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • LED Flashlight LED
    • Digital Calipers 6in
  2. Use a marker to mark the section to be removed, and then use a plastic tube cutter to remove the damaged section from the air line.

    CAUTION
    5mm is the maximum allowable length that can be cut.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Plastic Tube Cutter
    • Digital Calipers 6in
  3. Remove and discard the white plug from each end of the brass VOSS union, and then torque both fittings.
    5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use a wrench to counter hold the brass VOSS union to torque the fittings.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
    • 12 mm combination wrench
  4. Insert the air line fully into the fitting on each side of the brass VOSS union, and then lightly pull on the lines to make sure they are secured.
  5. Apply harness tape onto the brass VOSS union connection to prevent NVH concerns.
