Slider - Actuator - 2nd Row (5/7 Seat) (Remove and Replace)

Remove
- Open the RH front door.
- Lower the RH front window.
- Move the RH front seat forward.
- Open the RH falcon wing door.

Starting from the bottom, carefully pry the 2nd row seat escutcheon away from the
seat back to release the clips (x2), and then release the escutcheon from the
seat.
- Fold the 2nd row 40 seat downwards.

Release the J-hook that attaches the 2nd row 40 seat back upholstery to the
seat.
NoteFold the backrest upholstery down upon release.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 6in 90 degree tip miniature soft grip pick

Unzip the 2nd row 40 seat back upholstery on the LH and RH sides of the backrest
cover.
NoteEnds of the zippers are tucked underneath the seat upholstery. Use a pick to aid in moving the zippers.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 6in 90 degree tip miniature soft grip pick

Release the clips (x5) and Velcro strips (x2) that attach the 2nd row plastic seat
back to the seat assembly, and then remove the plastic seat back from the seat.
NoteFold the backrest cover over the headrest for access.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Clip pry tool

Release the clip that attaches the seat harness to the seat frame.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Clip pry tool

Relieve the tension on the metal clip by moving the 2nd row actuator slider into the
housing, and then remove and discard the metal clip from the actuator slider.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Plastic trim tool
- Small flat head screwdriver

Release the cable from the 2nd row actuator slider.
CAUTIONUse caution not to damage the cable locating plastic.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Plastic trim tool

Release the clips (x2) that attach the 2nd row actuator slider on the seat
frame.
NoteUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Clip pry tool

Move the 2nd row actuator slider towards the cable to relieve tension.
CAUTIONDo not kink or damage the cable.

Flip the 2nd row actuator slider vertically, use a pick to release the cable end
fitting from the open slot, and then remove the slider from the vehicle.

- 6 in 90 degree tip miniature soft grip pick
Install

Position the 2nd row actuator slider vertically on the vehicle, and then install the
cable end fitting into the slider opening.
CAUTIONDo not kink or damage the cable.NoteUse the pliers to hold the cable end fitting in place during slider installation.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Needle nose long bent pliers

Attach the 2nd row actuator slider cable to the slider.
CAUTIONDo not kink or damage the cable.

Install the clips (x2) that attach the 2nd row actuator slider to the seat
frame.

Apply forward pressure to the 2nd row actuator slider, and then install the new metal
clip on the slider.
NoteDo not deform or damage the clip.NoteUse the flat side of the plastic trim tool to aid clip installation. Verify slider operation, ensure proper functionality.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Plastic trim tool
- Small flat head screwdriver

Install the clip that attaches the seat harness to the seat frame.

Position the 2nd row plastic seat back on the seat assembly, and then install the
clips (x5) and Velcro strips (x2) that attach the seat back to the seat.
NoteFold the backrest cover and attach the corners of the Velcro strips.

Zip the 2nd row 40 seat back upholstery on the LH and RH sides of the backrest
cover.
NoteEnsure the ends of the zippers are tucked underneath the seat upholstery. Use a pick to aid in tucking the zippers.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 6in 90 degree tip miniature soft grip pick

Install the J-hook that attaches the 2nd row 40 seat back upholstery to the
seat.
- Unfold the 2nd row 40 seat into original position.

Starting at the top, carefully install the clips (x2) that attach the 2nd row
escutcheon to the seat.
- Close the RH falcon wing door.
- Move the RH front seat into original position.
- Raise the RH front window.
- Close the RH front door.
