Make sure 12V/LV power has been disconnected for at least 1 minute before disconnecting the electrical harness from Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) components, such as Restraint Control Module, sensors, airbags, etc. Failure to do so can result in unintended safety system behaviors. Torque Specifications

Reuse

Remove

  1. Disconnect 12V power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  2. Remove the front LH wheel arch liner. See Wheel Arch Liner - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  3. Disconnect the electrical wiring harness connector from the LH front airbag sensor.
  4. Remove the bolt that attaches the airbag sensor to the front end carrier, and then remove the sensor from the vehicle.
    10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
    • ¼ in std flex head ratchet
    • ¼ in flex head torque wrench (installation only)

Install

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal.
