Sensor - Impact Accelerometer - C-Pillar - LH (Remove and Replace)

Make sure 12V/LV power has been disconnected for at least 1 minute before disconnecting the electrical harness from Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) components, such as Restraint Control Module, sensors, airbags, etc. Failure to do so can result in unintended safety system behaviors. For more information on SRS precautions, see Airbag and Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) Precautions.

Remove

  1. Open all doors.
  2. Lower all windows.
  3. Remove the 2nd row lower seat cushion. See Seat Cushion - Lower - 2nd Row (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  5. Disconnect 12V power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  6. Remove the LH 2nd row seat side bolster. See Bolster - Side - Seat - 2nd Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
  7. Remove the LH rear sill panel trim. See Trim - Sill Panel - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  8. Remove the bolt that attaches the charge port harness bracket to the body, and then move the charge port harness away from the C-pillar.
    10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft)
  9. Disconnect the electrical harness from the airbag sensor connector.
  10. Remove the bolt that attaches the airbag sensor to the C-pillar, and then remove the sensor from the vehicle.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)

Install

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal.
