Mount and Bushings Set - Rear Drive Unit (3DU) (Remove and Replace)

Remove
- Remove the rear drive unit. See Drive Unit - Rear (3DU) (Remove and Install).

Install the drive unit
bushing tool onto the rear bushing.
NoteMark the position of the old bushing on the rear drive unit body before removal, so that the exact position of the new bushing is known upon installation.
- Turn the nut on the thrust washer to remove the bushing from the drive unit.
- Separate the bushing tool, and then remove it from the drive unit.

Install the bushing removal
tool on the RH bushing.
NoteUse cups "A", "C", and "D" when assembling the special tool, as shown.
- Turn the bearing-side bushing removal tool nut with a wrench while holding the other nut in place.
- When the bushing has been pushed out of the drive unit, separate the bushing removal tool, and then remove it from the drive unit.
- Remove the bolts that attach the LH mount to the rear drive unit, and remove the mount from the rear drive unit.
Install
- Install the bolts that attach the LH mount to the rear drive unit (torque 35 Nm +55 deg).

Install the bushing removal tool on the RH bushing.
NoteUse cups "A", "C", and "D" when assembling the special tool, as shown.
- Turn the bearing-side bushing installation tool nut with a wrench while holding the other nut in place.
- Set up the bushing tool to press in the new bushing.
- Turn the nut on the thrust washer to press the new bushing into the drive unit.
- Separate the bushing tool, and then remove it from the drive unit.
- Install the rear drive unit. See Drive Unit - Rear (3DU) (Remove and Install).
- Refer to the Alignment Requirement tables to determine whether an EPAS alignment check (EC) or four wheel alignment check (AC) is necessary. If performed, add the alignment check/adjust as a separate activity. See Alignment Requirement - Suspension.
