Switch - Steering Wheel - LH (Remove and Replace)

Correction code 17300702 0.24 NOTE: Unless otherwise explicitly stated in the procedure, the above correction code and FRT reflect all of the work required to perform this procedure, including the linked procedures. Remove

  1. Remove the driver airbag. See Airbag - Driver (Remove and Replace).
  2. Disconnect the steering wheel electrical wiring harness from the connector.
  3. Disconnect the electrical harness from the LH steering wheel switch connector.
  4. Disconnect the electrical harness from the RH steering wheel switch connector.
  5. Release the clips that attach the horn assembly, and then move the horn assembly to the side.
  6. Disconnect the electrical harness from the lower connector, and then remove the electrical harness from the steering wheel.
  7. Remove the screws (x4) that attach the bright surround to the steering wheel, and then remove the surround.
  8. Remove the screws (x3) that attach the LH steering wheel switch to the bright surround, and then remove the switch from the surround.

Install

  1. Install the LH steering wheel switch into the bright surround, and then install the screws (x3) that attach the switch to the surround.
    0.9 Nm (8 lbs-in)
  2. Install the bright surround into the steering wheel, and then install the screws (x4) that attach the surround to the steering wheel.
    5.4 Nm (4.0 lbs-ft)
  3. Install the electrical harness into the steering wheel, and then connect the electrical harness to the lower connector.
  4. Move the horn assembly to the center, and then fasten the clips that attach the horn assembly.
  5. Connect the electrical harness to the RH steering wheel switch connector.
  6. Connect the electrical harness to the LH steering wheel switch connector.
  7. Connect the steering wheel electrical harness to the connector.
  8. Install the driver airbag. See Airbag - Driver (Remove and Replace).
  9. Reinstall the vehicle firmware. See Software Reinstall - Touchscreen.
  10. Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle.
  11. In Toolbox, click the Actions tab, type "VCLEFT" in the search field, click on TEST-SELF_VCLEFT_X_SWCSearch for routine in ToolboxSteering Wheel ECU LIN CommunicationLow Voltage Controllers Low Voltage Controllers, and then select Run.
  12. Click the Actions tab, type "VCLEFT" in the search field, click on TEST-RESET_VCLEFTSearch for routine in ToolboxVCLEFT UDS ECU ResetLow Voltage Controllers Low Voltage ControllersLow Voltage / Power Distribution - Reset VCLeft, and then select Run.
  13. Disconnect the laptop from the vehicle.
