Raise and support vehicle
Noteremove charging equipment
- Open both front doors and lower both front windows.

Move RH front seat backward

Open hood
NotePress "Open" button on touchscreen to release latch, Lift lid manually

Remove rear apron
Note12x clips, Only store rear apron visible face upwards

Remove cabin intake upper duct

Remove closeout panel from frunk
assembly
Note4x clips, 1x connector, Frunk safety switch, 3x guide tabs, Grab closeout panel from bottom then pull it upward to release clips, Disconnect switch

Remove frunk assembly carpet
NoteNote: Not all Model 3 vehicles have a frunk carpet installed

Remove bolts securing frunk

Remove frunk assembly from
vehicle
Note12x clips, Replace any clips if broken or missing, Number of clips may vary on older vehicles
- Remove the cowl screen. See Panel - Cowl Screen (Remove and Replace).

Remove RH front wheel center cap
Note1x cap

Loosen RH front wheel
Note5x nuts, 21mm, 175 Nm

Raise vehicle partially and lower lift
onto locks
NoteSet vehicle to comfortable working height, Make sure there's an audible click of the locks on both sides before lowering, Otherwise vehicle may tilt to the side

Remove RH front wheel
Note5x nuts, 21mm, 175 Nm

Partially remove RH front wheel
liner
Note6x clips, 1x bolt, 10mm, 5 Nm, Newer vehicles may be equipped with 2x push clips securing lower portion of liner to body
-
Disconnect front harness connectors
for RH side repeater and camera
Note2x connectors

Power off vehicle from center
display
NoteVia Controls > Safety > Power Off, Select Power Off button at warning dialog box

Disconnect LV battery
Note2x connectors, Lift up and release green locking tab, Pull black connector lock outwards to release connection

Disconnect service disconnect
Note1x connector, Release locking tab

Remove fresh air intake assembly
Note2x studs, Lift cowl as needed

Remove LH IP end cap

Remove LH air wave bezel cap from main
decor assembly
Note2x clips, Newer vehicles are equipped with solid bezel.

Remove RH IP end cap

Remove main decor assembly
Note15x clips, Entire decor does not need to come off for glove box removal, If you lift RH side of decor then you will have access to 3x torx screws securing top of glove box, Replace securing clips as needed

Release RH footwell assembly from

Remove bolts securing passenger knee
air bag onto vehicle
Note4x patch bolts, T30, 8 Nm, Discard after removal, 2x screws, T20, 2 Nm, 1x push clip, Newer vehicles have 4x E10 patch bolts

Remove passenger knee air bag from

Remove screws securing glove box
assembly to IP carrier

Disconnect glove box assembly

Remove glove box from IP carrier

Disconnect glove box USB cable from
car computer
Note1x connector, Depress latch on top of USB cable to release internal latches, Then release from car computer

Remove clip securing passenger
footwell air duct and rotate for access
Note1x push clip, With glovebox installed there is not sufficient room to fully remove passenger footwell duct
-
Disconnect RH upper duct thermistor
from RH IP air wave duct

Remove RH IP air wave duct

Release windshield heater

Release RH grommet from body
-
Remove electrical tape securing
harness bundle to rubber dust boot
NoteUse a razor blaze, carefully cut electrical tape away to expose rubber dust boot

Remove locking pin from connector
NoteCarefully pry pin out of connector and fully remove locking pin
-
Remove coax cable needed for the side
repeater overlay terminal 2 (RHS)
NoteInspect all components for damage
-
Apply harness tape onto RH coax
overlay cable before installation
NoteUse Anti-abrasion tape and wrap the entire length of the coax cable to protect the cable for damage when it is in the vehicle

Position RH coax overlay cable into
place, Place through RH wheel liner
NotePull till you have roughly 6 inches of cable towards the interior of the vehicle

Pull RH coax overlay cable through RH
grommet harness
NotePull harness toward car computer under RH grommet main harness

Tape coax overlay onto fish nylon
tape

Pull RH coax overlay cable through
bulkhead and into interior cabin
-
Remove nylon fish tape
NoteRemove tape the pull nylon fish tape out of vehicle

Disconnect side repeater cameras

Note1x locking connector

Remove locking pin from side repeater
cameras connector
NoteCarefully pry pin out of connector and fully remove locking pin

Remove coax terminal 2 (RHS) cable
from connector
NoteInspect all components for damage
-
Insert new side repeater coax terminal
2 (RHS) cable onto side repeater cameras connector
NoteEnsure both coax cables are fully seated into connector, Audible locking and flush mounting to confirm

Secure locking pin to connector
NoteAlign tabs of lock in connector housing, Ensure flush installation of locking pin to connector housing

Connect side repeater cameras
connector onto car computer

Position RH coax overlay cable onto
frunk main harness grommet, Secure cable onto harness using zip ties
Note3x zip-ties, Trim off excess material after harness has been secured

Cut off the vehicle side repeater coax
terminal and tape to vehicle harness
NoteCut the coax connector only

Connect front harness connectors for
RH side repeater and camera
Note2x connectors

Secure RH grommet from body
NoteUse electrical tape to wrap the end of the dust boot

Secure windshield heater

Install RH front wheel liner to
vehicle
Note6x clips, 1x bolt, 10mm, 5 Nm, Newer vehicles may be equipped with 2x push clips securing lower portion of liner to body

Install RH front wheel
Note5x nuts, 21mm, 175 Nm, Start lug nuts by hand before using power tool, Torque at later step
-
Lower vehicle until tires are touching
ground
NoteRaise lift off locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered

Torque RH front wheel
Note5x nuts, 21mm, 175 Nm

Install RH front wheel center

Note1x cap, Verify emblem is aligned with valve stem
- Install the cowl screen. See Panel - Cowl Screen (Remove and Replace).

Install fresh air intake
assembly
Note2x studs, Lift cowl as needed

Install frunk assembly to
vehicle
Note12x clips, Make sure frunk assembly is fully seated onto clips, Number of clips may vary on older vehicles, Ensure A/C compressor HVIL harness is not pinched between frunk assembly and thermal beam, replace any damaged clips

Install bolts securing frunk
assembly
Note7x bolts, 10mm, 5 Nm

Install frunk assembly carpet
-
Install frunk close out panel
Note4x clips, 1x connector, Frunk safety switch, 3x guide tabs, Align 3x tabs then push downward to secure clips

Install cabin intake upper duct
assembly
Note3x clips, Some configurations may come with 4x clips

Connect glove box USB cable to car
computer

Re-position and secure the passenger
footwell air duct

Install RH IP air wave duct

Connect RH upper duct thermistor to RH
IP air wave duct

Connect glove box assembly

Note3x connectors, New puddle lamp harness routing prevent blocking movement of pawls, Make sure harness is routed properly above passenger footwell air duct before connecting

Install glove box into IP
carrier

Install screws securing glove box

Install main decor assembly

Install LH air wave bezel cap to main
decor assembly

Install LH IP end cap

Install RH air wave bezel cap to main
decor assembly

Install passenger knee air bag onto
vehicle
Note1x connector, Use caution not to damage connector and harness, Support knee air bag while connecting connector

Install bolts securing passenger knee
air bag to vehicle
Note4x patch bolts, E10, 8 Nm, Install new patch bolts, 2x screws, T20, 2 Nm, 1x push clip, If vehicle equipped with T30 bolts update to E10

Install RH footwell cover

Install RH footwell assembly onto
IP

Connect first responder loop and LV
battery
Note2x connectors, Secure FRL first, Seat LV battery connection and push black connector lock inwards to secure, Engage green locking tab when fully seated

Install rear apron

Close hood
-
Move RH front seat to original
position

Clear DAS Calibration through UI
NoteControls > Service > Camera Calibration, Select Clear Calibration, Verify calibration was cleared successfully, Wait for prompt to disappear automatically before continuing, Calibration in Progress message and progress icon will appear during the next drive cycle
- Vehicle will need to be driven by customer to complete the calibration procedure. During this time DAS functions will be completely unavailable
