Gap Hider - Steering Column - Lower (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and fully lower the window.
  2. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  3. Disconnect 12V power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  4. Remove the driver airbag. See Airbag - Driver (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the steering wheel. See Steering Wheel (Remove and Install).
  6. Remove the steering column upper shroud. See Shroud - Upper - Steering Column (Remove and Replace)
  7. Remove the steering column lower shroud. See Shroud - Lower - Steering Column (Remove and Replace)
  8. Remove the LH footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell - Driver (Remove and Replace).
  9. Remove the driver knee airbag. See Airbag - Knee - Driver (Remove and Install).

    Note
    Knee airbags are only installed on vehicles for US market.
  10. Release the clips that attach the lower steering column gap hider from the instrument panel sub assembly.
  11. Remove the lower steering column gap hider from the vehicle.

Install

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal.
