Rim - Steering Wheel (Remove and Replace)

Torque Specifications

Reuse

Remove

  1. Remove the steering wheel. See Steering Wheel (Remove and Install).
  2. Release the clips (x3) that attach the horn switch to the steering wheel rim.
  3. Disconnect the connectors (x2), and then remove the horn switch from the bezel.
  4. Disconnect the electrical harness from the lower connector.
  5. Remove the screws (x4) that attach the bright surround to the steering wheel.

    TIp
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 socket
  6. Release the clips that attach the steering wheel bezel assembly and horn switch to the steering wheel rim.

    Note
    First pry up the lower portion away from the steering wheel, and then work around to release the other clips.

Install

  1. Install the clips that attach the steering wheel bezel assembly and horn switch to the steering wheel rim.
  2. Install the screws (x4) that attach the surround to the steering wheel.
    2.5 Nm (1.8 lbs-ft)

    Make sure that the bezel is properly installed into the rim.

    TIp
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 socket
  3. Connect the electrical harness to the lower connector.
  4. Position the harness back to the horn switch, and then connect the connectors (x2).

    Note
    Make sure the connectors are properly engaged.
  5. Install the clips (x3) that attach the horn switch to the steering wheel rim.
  6. Install the steering wheel. See Steering Wheel (Remove and Install).
  7. Reinstall the software. See Software Reinstall - Touchscreen.
