Warning
The side impact airbag
deployment depends on the rear door sensor's ability to detect a side impact from air
pressure. Make sure that there are no uncovered holes in the rear door shells. Additionally,
always reinstall plugs or tape when servicing or inspecting the rear doors and their
components.
CAUTION
New glass components (windshield, roof, door, and fixed glass) must be inspected before installation to meet Tesla’s internal standards of quality. Perform the inspection described in Pre-Installation Glass Inspection before beginning this procedure.

Remove
- Remove the rear LH door trim panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Rear - LH (Remove and Install).
- Remove the LH rear door inner belt seal. See Seal - Inner Belt - Rear Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the plugs that cover the opening in the door for access to the bolts.

Temporarily connect the puddle light to the LH rear door harness.
CAUTIONRoute the electrical cable so that it will not be damaged when closing the door.
- Connect the window switch special tool and lower the door glass so that the regulator isolator clamp bolts are accessible from the holes.

Remove and discard the bolts that attach the door glass to the regulator isolator clamps, and then remove the door glass from the door.
NoteLift the glass up and then away from the run channel to remove it from the door.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm socket
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
- 2 in extension
NoteReplace the regulator isolator clamps, if damaged.
Install

Inspect the regulator isolator clamps for glass splinters or other debris, and clean them if necessary.
CAUTIONDebris and splinters may damage or shatter the new door glass.
- Position the door glass into the rear door.

Install the new bolts that attach the door glass to the regulator isolator clamps.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm socket
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
- 2 in extension

Install the inner belt seal to the rear door; attach the inner belt seal with clips.
Tip: Press the inner belt seal down into the rear door.
- Adjust the door glass. See Glass - Door - LH - Rear (Adjust).
- Install the rear door trim panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Rear - LH (Remove and Install).
- Calibrate the windows. See Window Regulator (Recalibrate).
