Bumper Beam - Rear (Remove and Replace)

Reuse

Remove

  1. Remove the rear center bracket. See Bracket - Rear - Center (Remove and Replace).
  2. Remove the nuts that attach the rear bumper beam to the body, and then remove the rear bumper beam from the vehicle.

    Note
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 15 mm deep socket
    • 6 in extension

Install

Note
A newer revision of the bumper beam has 3 holes for the studs on each side. If installing a newer revision, drill holes (x2) in the replacement part to accommodate for the extra studs. Do not drill holes if this repair is performed due to body damage and a new rear body panel has been installed. When installing a new rear body panel, the factory-installed bolts (x2) are not being replaced. See Rear Body Panel.
  1. Position the rear bumper beam on the body, and then install the nuts that attach the rear bumper beam to the body.
    60 Nm (44.2 lbs-ft)
