Subwoofer (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the liftgate.
  2. Disconnect 12V power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  3. Remove the trunk sill trim. See Trim - Sill - Trunk (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the upper trunk garnish. See .
  5. Remove the clip that attaches the RH trunk side trim to the body.
  6. Fold back the RH trunk side trim until the bolt that attaches the subwoofer can be removed..
  7. Disconnect the RH trunk side trim puddle lamp connector.
  8. Disconnect the subwoofer connector (x1).
  9. Disconnect the amplifier connectors (x3).

    CAUTION
    Make sure 12V power is disconnected before disconnecting the electrical connectors. Failure to disconnect 12V power before removal can result in damage.
  10. Release the clips that attach the electrical harness to the subwoofer.
  11. Remove the bolt that attaches the amplifier harness to the body.
  12. Remove the bolt and nuts that attach the subwoofer to the body, and then remove the subwoofer amplifier assembly from the vehicle.
    5.4 Nm (4.0 lbs-ft)
    5.4 Nm (4.0 lbs-ft)
  13. Remove the bolts that attach the amplifier to the subwoofer, and then install the bolts that attach the amplifier to the new subwoofer.
    4.3 Nm (3.2 lbs-ft)

Install

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal.
