This additional procedure can be performed when the front brake pads have been removed and before the pads are being installed.
  1. Clean the back side of the front brake pads (x4) and the surfaces of the brake caliper pistons (x8) using brake cleaner.
  2. Apply primer to the back side of the front brake pads (x4), and then allow 5 minutes to dry.
  3. Cut 4 pieces of 4.75 in (12 cm) double sided NVH tape.
  4. Align the NVH tape to the back side of the front brake pads (x4), and then apply pressure on the pieces of NVH tape to adhere them to the brake pads.
  5. Remove the protective cover from the NVH tape applied to the brake pads (x4).
  6. Clean the brake caliper retaining pins (x4) using a hand brush and soapy water, and then apply an even layer of Silaramic lubricant to the brake caliper retaining pins.
  7. Proceed with the installation of the front brake pads.
