Decor Trim - Cup Holder - Center Console (Remove and Replace)

Correction Codes and FRTs

  • Model 3 for Decor Trim - Cup Holder - Center Console (Remove and Replace): 15190402,0.42
  • Model 3 for Decor Trim - Cup Holder - Center Console (2.0) (Remove and Replace): 15190412, 0.30

NOTE: Unless otherwise explicitly stated in the procedure, the above correction code and FRT reflect all of the work required to perform this procedure, including the linked procedures. Remove Cup Holder Decor Trim for Original Center Console

  1. Remove the center console lower rear panel. See Panel - Lower Rear - Center Console (Remove and Replace).
  2. Move the front seats to their lowest and rearmost positions.
  3. Remove the rear underhoood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  4. Disconnect 12V power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the rear of the center console.
  6. Open the front and rear center console rotating lids.
  7. Remove the LH and RH center console decor trims and center console bright strips. See GUID-1DA9E475-B8D2-4553-B060-480EC13DA39F.html.
  8. Release the clips (x6) that attach the cup holder decor panel to the cup holder assembly, and then separate the cup holder decor panel from the center console assembly.
  9. Disconnect the electrical connector from the security body controller module, and then remove the cup holder decor panel from the vehicle.
  10. Remove the screws (x2) that attach the security body controller module to the cup holder decor panel, and then remove the security body controller module from the panel.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 socket
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
    • Wiha TorqueVario-S 0.80Nm - 2.0Nm
    • Wiha 1/4" Bit Holder Adapter

Remove Cup Holder Decor Trim for Center Console (2nd Generation)

  1. Disconnect 12V power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  2. Open the armrest.
  3. Remove the LH and RH center console decor trims and center console bright strips. See GUID-1DA9E475-B8D2-4553-B060-480EC13DA39F.html.
  4. Release the clips (x6) that attach the cup holder decor panel to the cup holder assembly, and then separate the cup holder decor panel from the center console assembly.
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the security body controller module, and then remove the cup holder decor panel from the vehicle.
  6. Remove the screws (x2) that attach the security body controller module to the cup holder decor panel, and then remove the security body controller module from the panel.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 socket
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
    • Wiha TorqueVario-S 0.80Nm - 2.0Nm
    • Wiha 1/4" Bit Holder Adapter

Install

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:
