Skid Plate - HV Battery - Rear (Remove and Replace)

Reuse

Remove

  1. Remove the mid aero shield. See Panel - Aero Shield - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  2. Release the clips (x2) that attach the coolant hose to the LH shear plate.
  3. Release the clips that attach the hoses to the rear HV battery skid plate
  4. Remove the lower bolts that attach the skid plate to the HV battery.
  5. Remove the upper nuts that attach the skid plate to the HV battery.
  6. Remove the upper bolts that attach the skid plate to the HV battery, and then remove the skid plate from the HV battery.

Install

  1. Position the rear skid plate, and then install the upper bolts that attach the skid plate to the HV battery. Torque the bolts at a later stage.
  2. Install the lower bolts that attach the skid plate to the HV battery.
    13 Nm (9.6 lbs-ft)
  3. Install the upper nuts that attach the skid plate to the HV battery. Torque at a later step.
  4. Torque the upper bolts that attach the rear skid plate to the HV battery.
    35 Nm (25.8 lbs-ft)

    Note
    Some vehicles are equipped with self-tapping bolts from the factory. If the vehicle is equipped with a bolt with a hexagonal indentation on the bolt head (1637725-00-A), the torque value is 64 Nm.
  5. Torque the upper nut that attaches the rear skid plate to the HV battery.
    13 Nm (9.6 lbs-ft)
  6. Install the clips that attach the hoses to the rear HV battery skid plate
  7. Install the clips (x2) that attach the coolant hose to the LH shear plate.
  8. Install the mid aero shield. See Panel - Aero Shield - Rear (Remove and Replace).
