Sensor - Pressure Tube (Pedestrian Protection) (Remove and Replace)

Make sure 12V/LV power has been disconnected for at least 1 minute before disconnecting the electrical harness from Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) components, such as Restraint Control Module, sensors, airbags, etc. Disconnect the 12V/LV battery and the First Responder Loop. Failure to do so can result in unintended safety system behaviors. For more information on SRS precautions, see Airbag and Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) Precautions.

Install

  1. Install the pedestrian protection pressure tube into the front bumper beam foam, and then fasten the clips (x2) that attach the LH and RH pedestrian protection pressure tube sensor to the foam.
  2. Install the front the bumper beam foam. See Foam - Bumper Beam - Front (Remove and Replace).
  3. Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
  4. Unlock the vehicle gateway, See Gateway (Unlock).
  5. Perform the following routine using Service Mode or Toolbox (see 0005 - Service Modes): PROC_RCM_X_SERVICE-TASKSvia Toolbox: (link)via Service Mode Plus:
    • Safety & Restraints ➜ Airbags ➜ RCM Post Replacement Tasks
    • Safety & Restraints ➜ Safety Testing ➜ RCM Service Tasks
    • Safety & Restraints ➜ Seats ➜ RCM Post Replacement Tasks
    • Safety & Restraints ➜ Airbags ➜ RCM Post Replacement Tasks
    • Safety & Restraints ➜ Safety Testing ➜ RCM Service Tasks
  6. Exit Service Mode.
  7. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
