Overhead Console - Front (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Release the clips (x2) that attach the front overhead console to the headliner, and then lower the console from the headliner.

    CAUTION
    To avoid damaging the headliner, do not pry against the headliner. Insert a 90 degree trim tool near the dome light and pull downwards to release the clip, and then move to the other side to release the remaining clip.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the front overhead console.
  3. Remove the front overhead console from the headliner.

Install

  1. Connect the front overhead console electrical connector.
  2. Push the front overhead console upwards into the headliner and engage the clips (x2)
  3. Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle.
  4. In Toolbox, search for the test routines based on the vehicle type:
    • NA or APAC vehicles: Click the Actions tab, and then type "VFOHC" in the search field.
    • EMEA vehicles: Click the Actions tab, and then type "OHC" in the search field.
  5. In Toolbox, run the test routines based on the vehicle type:
    • NA or APAC vehicles: Click the "Play" button next to TESTSELF_ VCLEFT_X_VFOHC and then click Run.
    • EMEA vehicles: Click the "Play" button next to ODIN_M3_TEST_FOHC_ROHC.
  6. Update the vehicle firmware. See Software Update.
  7. Disable service mode. See Service Mode.

    Service Mode must be disabled for the front overhead console microphone to function properly. Exit Service Mode to verify proper function of the microphone.
