Seat Back - 2nd Row - LH (Remove and Replace)

Reuse

Remove

  1. Remove the 2nd row lower seat cushion. See Seat Cushion - Lower - 2nd Row (Remove and Replace).
  2. Remove the LH 2nd row seat side bolster. See Bolster - Side - Seat - 2nd Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
  3. Release the clips that attach the bolster bracket, and remove the bracket from the vehicle.
  4. Remove the LH 2nd row buckle. See Buckle - 2nd Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Disconnect the electrical harness from the heated seat connector for the LH 2nd row seat back assembly, if equipped.
  6. Remove the nuts that attach the LH seat back assembly hinge bracket to the body.
    18 Nm (13.3 lbs-ft)
  7. Lift the left side of the LH seat back assembly up, move forward and to the left, and pull the inner pivot out of the RH seat back assembly.
  8. Remove the LH seat back assembly from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Move the LH seat back assembly into the 2nd row area.
  2. Insert the inner pivot of the LH seat back assembly into the receptacle of the RH seat back assembly, move the assembly rearward and to the right, and then lower the LH seat back assembly hinge bracket onto the body studs.
  3. Install the nuts that attach the LH seat back assembly hinge bracket to the body.
    18 Nm (13.3 lbs-ft)
  4. Connect the electrical harness to the heated seat connector for the LH 2nd row seat back assembly, if equipped.
  5. This video shows how to properly stack the 2nd row LH seat buckle onto the 2nd row center seat belt anchor:
  6. Set the 2nd row center seat belt anchor onto the 2nd row LH inner ancillary bay rail, with the belt to the RH side.
  7. Make sure that the belt is not twisted, and lays flat against the 2nd row seat back.
  8. Set the guide pin of the 2nd row LH seat buckle bracket into the hole of the 2nd row LH inner ancillary bay rail, and pivot the bracket down onto the anchor, aligning the guide pin to the slot in the anchor.
  9. Install a new bolt to attach the seat buckle bracket, the seat belt anchor, and the inner ancillary bay rail to the body.
    40 Nm (29.5 lbs-ft)
  10. Verify the stacking.

  11. Install the plastic bracket that attaches the female side of the electrical connector to the body studs.
  12. Connect the electrical harness to the LH rear seat belt buckle connector.
  13. Install the bolster bracket, and then fasten the clips that attach the bolster bracket.
  14. Install the LH 2nd row seat side bolster. See Bolster - Side - Seat - 2nd Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
  15. Install the 2nd row lower seat cushion. See Seat Cushion - Lower - 2nd Row (Remove and Replace).
