Harness - Windshield (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the RH front door and lower the window.
  2. Remove the lower quad camera cover. See Quad Camera Cover - Lower (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the rear view mirror. See Mirror - Rear View (Remove and Replace).
  4. Release the clips (x4) that attach the upper quad camera cover to the windshield bracket, and then separate the cover from the bracket.

    CAUTION
    Do not pull the upper quad camera cover with excessive force, as the electrical harness is still attached to the interior camera.
  5. Disconnect the windshield harness from the interior camera electrical connector, and then remove the quad camera upper cover from the vehicle.
  6. Remove the forward facing camera. See Camera - Triple - Forward Facing (Remove and Replace).
  7. Disconnect the humidity and temperature sensor electrical connector.
  8. Disconnect the GPS/GNSS antenna connector.
  9. Remove the screw that attaches the windshield harness to the windshield bracket, and then move the harness aside.
  10. Remove the RH instrument panel end cap. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
  11. Remove the RH middle A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
  12. Remove the RH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  13. Remove the RH upper A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
  14. Remove the RH sun visor. See Sun Visor - LH (Remove and Replace).
  15. Release the RH sun visor check base cover clips, and then remove the check base cover from the vehicle.

  16. Remove the bolt that attaches the RH sun visor check base to the body, and remove the check base from the vehicle.

  17. Release the clips (x3) that attach the front center of the headliner to the body.
  18. Separate the primary seal between the A-pillar and B-pillar from the headliner and body, and then lower the RH front of the headliner from the body.
  19. Disconnect the windshield harness electrical connectors at the lower A-pillar, and then pull the windshield harness up through the opening on the instrument panel.
  20. Release the clips (x6) that attach the windshield harness to the RH A-pillar.
  21. Release the clips (x6) that attach the windshield harness along the top portion of the windshield, and then remove the harness from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Install the windshield harness along the top portion of the windshield, and then fasten the clips (x6) that attach the harness to the windshield.
  2. Fasten the clips (x6) that attach the windshield harness to the RH A-pillar.
  3. Move the windshield harness down through the opening on the instrument panel, and then connect the windshield harness electrical connectors at the lower A-pillar.
  4. Raise the RH front of the headliner to the body and reseat the primary seal between the A-pillar and B-pillar to the headliner and body.
  5. Fasten the clips (x3) that attach the front center of the headliner to the body.
  6. Install the RH sun visor check base to the headliner, and then install the bolt that attaches the check base to the body.
    0.8 Nm (7 lbs-in)

  7. Install the RH sun visor check base cover to the RH check base, and then fasten the clips that attach the cover to the check base.

  8. Install the RH sun visor. See Sun Visor - LH (Remove and Replace).
  9. Install the RH upper A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
  10. Install the RH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  11. Install the RH middle A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
  12. Install the RH instrument panel end cap. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
  13. Position the windshield harness onto the windshield bracket, and then install the screw that attaches the harness to the bracket.
    1 Nm (.7 lbs-ft)
  14. Connect the GPS/GNSS antenna connector.
  15. Connect the humidity and temperature sensor electrical connector.
  16. Install the forward facing camera. See Camera - Triple - Forward Facing (Remove and Replace).
  17. Bring the quad camera upper cover to the windshield bracket, and then connect the windshield harness to the interior camera electrical connector.
  18. Install the upper quad camera cover to the windshield bracket, and then fasten the clips (x4) that attach the cover to the bracket.
  19. Install the rear view mirror. See Mirror - Rear View (Remove and Replace).
  20. Install the lower quad camera cover. See Quad Camera Cover - Lower (Remove and Replace).
  21. Close the RH front door and raise the window.
  22. On the vehicle touchscreen, touch Controls > Service > Camera Calibration > Clear Calibration, and verify the calibration cleared successfully.
  23. Inform the customer that manual driving is now required to allow the camera to self-calibrate.

    Self-calibration can take up to 100 miles (160 km) of manual driving, depending upon the road type and condition. Until self-calibration is complete, the message "Autopilot Features Currently Unavailable: Manual Driving Required While Camera Is Calibrating" is displayed if an attempt is made to engage an Autopilot feature.
